LABELS and LABEL APPLIERS

I have been just printing on my CD's with marker pen, but am considering putting labels on them. I already have Roxio CD Creator 5.0, which has the label software.

Does anyone have any recommendations, pro or con, as to labels or appliers? I know nothing about them. I am in Denver and have Best Buy, Circuit, City, Comp USA, WalMart, etc. as sources.

Do labels cause problems, especially with players that feed from the front (like my car)?

I'd appreciate any input here ASAP, as I'm trying to put together a concert today or tomorrow as a present and want it to look as nice as possible.

Hey Reed, labels won't cause any problems as long as you put them on right. Just put them on straight and smoothe,and don't get any bubbles or creases in em. There's a bunch of different labeling software available.
Good luck...BTW...I usually print pix from the concert on my labels.

Lables are usually viewed as bad. That's the short and sweet answer. Yeah, they look pretty and professional, but they may affect the life of the cd. Admittedly, so does using sharpie on the cd, but ink from a marker wont jam up your front loading cd player. If you are looking solely for pretty, and not for a long lasting cd, then by all means go for a label.
As far as for a type of label, they are kinda like regular paper. I believe you can get em in glossy, matte, etc. So however you would like em, you can get em. Myabe not at your local big box store, but somewhere. I would recommend getting a "stomper" thats the device used to put the label on the cd, cause otherwise it is darn near impossible to get on straight.

I use CD Stomper as well. Works great. It comes with click n design software that works on PC's and Mac's( it doesnt work with OSX 10.3)

I use Discus labeling software from Magic Mouse for designing my labels

You could always go for broke and buy one of the new printers from Epson that prints directly on to the printable cd's

I use Stomper as well.

Only problem I have had is with the CDs I keep in my truck all the time (almost all CDR copies) Some of the ones that I have labeled were fine for a few months then started to bubble with the changes in weather. It's not all of them, so I have no real solution. I have just started to go with Sharpie marker on my "travelin" Cds

I use Sharpie 5.0 it comes in medium and fine point and multiple colors and bypasses a sticky label
