All-
I have been following this thread and struggling with the rest of the newbies.
Looks like I waiting like the rest.
But I too am willing to seed once given the chance. But I admitt I may need some with that also.
Please let me know what I can do to help.
Was at Monday and Wednesday show and would love to have these.
Thanks again for posting the directions.

I'm sure you already know this but in order to seed you must leave your internet connected and leave the program running. The basic way that torrents work is that they are shared between users. (whenever you close your torrent application you are no longer allowing others to DL it) I hope that helps some.BostonPhan wrote:All-

Thank you very much for getting this back up Pablo
For the good folks who are new to torrenting and would
like to learn more about it there is a link to a FAQ back
a few posts in this thread that might help, there are also
links to some software that you will probably need to convert
and listen to the .flac files.

84% done downloading...I guess my question is that when I right-click on the file as its downloading in Azureus, one of my options is "open file". When I click on that it a window opens with a bunch of flac files and a text file. When I click on one of the flac files, I get an error window that says the file's address and it says access is denied. Does anyone recognize this problem?

I had a simular problem eariler but I don't think you can open flac files or bittorrents before they have completed downloading I'm at 92% now with about 30 minutes left. I'm sure it'll workMatty wrote:84% done downloading...I guess my question is that when I right-click on the file as its downloading in Azureus, one of my options is "open file". did you get an error message? Read the FAQ closely!! and try a google search for your error.BostonPhan wrote:Thanks all.
I just open the new torrent and says waiting?
Am I just in queue???
I will be able to keep open once I down load.
The way I understood it earlier was that there was a 24 hour wait if you had uploaded less than 1 gig. I have been playing with this most of the day and trying to help others out even as I type this message so I apologize if I'm short.

Torrents are great in theory. Especially for large files like this. But in order for them to work efficently, there have to be multiple people sharing the concert. As long as that is happening, then everyone helps to share the upload. But once people stop sharing, there is less bandwidth available, so the other speeds will drop. No matter how fast your connection is, if only one person is sharing it, your download will only go as fast as they can upload. Which is why the poster (whose name escapes me right now) is asking that everyone keep sharing the torrent file once they have completed it. Just make sure you read all the documents that have been linked in here to help you out. Using torrents aren't really that hard, but there are several little things that you have to do to make sure you are doing it correctly. For example, if you are using a router at home (and most people with multiple computers probally are) make sure you have your router set up to forward the torrent ports to YOUR computer. That will greatly help to speed up your download, as well as your uploads. If you don't understand that, just read the FAQS, they are pretty helpful at this point. Once you get the hang of torrents, there are lots of great stuff out there. If you like DMB, you can try www.dreamingtree.org, or antsmarching.org, or check out www.dimeadozen.org for lots of other boots.BostonPhan wrote:Thanks ASU.
That is the one (OK, two things I did know).
Have had Torrent open since I figured out how to download sucessfully.
Another question, any idea how long it would take to download this over cable modem???

Ok, so now I am the only dumb one left who cant get this to downlaod.
I signed up a couple of days ago but i still get the error:
Buffett 6-22-05" : Aborting the torrent as it was rejected by the tracker
while not connected to any peers. Message from the tracker: Not
authorized (7h) - READ THE FAQ! http://torrentmatrix.com
I am assuming I have the program loaded correctly as I am getting the error message.
There seem to be seeder so I am lost.
Any help would be appreciated.
Or h@ll, can someone burn me a copy!

The best I know to tell you is the (7h) means that you have to wait 7 more hours before the download begins. It has to do with a ratio thing and how much you DL verese how much you seed or upload. It took me some time to find it in the FAQ too!BostonPhan wrote:Ok, so now I am the only dumb one left who cant get this to downlaod.
