For a successful tailgate:
Chicken Breats/Wings
Hamburgers (with cheese of course!)
Pickles
Chips
A small propane grill (easily lights & cools)
Ketchup, for God's sake don't forget the ketchup!
A bottle opener
A fork & knife, someone always needs one!
A cooler (or 3) with plenty of ice
2-3 cases of beer (or if you prefer, margaritas)
Hula skirts
Coconut bras (for the ladies...not you guys)
Flip-Flops
-->Lots of laughs and LOUD BUFFETT MUSIC

This is the VERY FIRST Buffett concert I have ever been able to get tickets to! My daughter and I want to do this right- so what do we do? hang out at the car...or what? We were fortunate to get lawn seats (there IS TOO a goddess!) and we intend to get to the parking lot at GTE Amphithteater early. Please don't be sarcastic... I have tried hard every year to get tix but just couldn't do it. Even tried calling the day of the show last year to see if tickets had been released, but HE doesn't do that! We just want to have fun! thanks for helping. Beverly

Hey Bev,

Are you in for the time of your life! Ya have to get the right attire for this which is grass skirts, coconuts, flip flops, let me just put it this way, if you come dressed in every day clothes you're gonna be out of place, so don't try to look "good". Take lots of your favorite booze, put a smile on your face cuz we parrotheads do not like frowns and be friendly. You will never be sorry you went and you'll swear you'll do whatever it takes to get tickets for the next year, even sell your firstborn! Hang out at your car but do walk around and meet others and see all the decorations. You'll wonder why ya didn't do this sooner!!!! Don't forget to take a camera!

Hey Bev, GTE's gates don't open until 2 hours before the concert so don't plan on going too early, they'll just turn you away. They stick to their gate opening policy pretty well there.

Alright. I'm stumped. How the heck do you make a portable blender?

I've got a nice bash planned for the roof of our RV at Alpine Valley, but I need a battery operated blender. Suggestions? Wiring? Special type of blender?

Chris they sell rechargable blenders at Kmart or walmart for around $50.00. If you have a RV can you use an extension cord from inside the RV

Saw a really cool home made blender last year at
the show, this guy had a exercise bicycle with the
tire belt hooked up to a odd looking larger than
average blender, must have been a mit grad.
Another person brought a professional ice shaving
machine hooked up to a small honda gas powered

I purchased a 12 volt blender from the local RV dealer a couple seasons ago. It looks just like the kind you have on your kitchen counter. It costs a bit more than the B&D one at K-mart, but it holds twice as much at a time, and plugs into any 12 volt receptical(cigarette lighter, cell phone outlet, etc.).

Saw a guy at the marina at Hilton Head last yr that had attached what looked like a weedeater engine to a blender. It was kinda loud, but that puppy would whip up a batch of 'ritas in a hurry :-)

This one is really cool...Last year in camden,
a group of people at a tailgate, had a huge chunk
of ice, the size of a large igloo cooler, they
somehow hollowed out the middle, and had a fruity
punch in it. they probably used a drill on the
bottom, because it had a pour spout at the bot

captain kidd:

Do you have a recipe for shrimp salsa?
Sounds like salsa, cocktail sauce, and chopped
shrimp. How do you make it? Any secret ingredients?

ShipWrecks + YellowBirds + Red Stripes + beer inside the venue + said same after the show =
one unbelievable hangover. As JB says moderation is the key. I've learned my lesson...I hope.

Looking forward to having a few rita's with fellow ph at Alpine Valley. Matter of fact first thing I am taking is my magarita ball. It's a huge plastic ball that has a pump on it and you fill with 2 bottles of Jose and 1 bottle of mix ., fill with ice and presto no blender needed. If you see the ball stop in and have one with me. Coming from Michigan, can't wait to see the show and meet some great parrot heads. FINS UP!
