I know you captured the sirius broadcast. What did you capute it with, and at what rate?
I tape all my sirius concerts at 328kbps @ 24 bit (on my recorder), then I bring it down to 16 bit b/c of the lossness or the audio. I also tape straight to .wav for better quality. I also cut all my shows with Cool Edit Pro 2.0.

So, any chance of spreading that show? I would really like to hear how your recording turned out. Maybe upload the files to jimmydreamz FTP?Pablo Escobar wrote:I tape all my sirius concerts at 328kbps @ 24 bit (on my recorder), then I bring it down to 16 bit b/c of the lossness or the audio. I'd do a B&P if you would prefer that. If you haven't cut the files yet, I have Abode Auditon to cut them myself...
PM me if you want to take this discussion offline.

I cut my show as soon as I am done taping it, so i can get it to cd and then my personal archive. I have posted some of the shows I taped last year for buffett's last tour, and I torrented 3 of the shows...but it was a hassle for people to DL it, understand bittorrent, and understand to covert from FLAC > .wav or .shn > .wav. I guess I lost patience..but I do want to get one more show on BT to see if anyone likes it...but i'll decide when I get back from jazzfest.DeltOU wrote:So, any chance of spreading that show? I look forward to your release. I'm sure your's will sound great (Recording from Siruis must be a breeze vs. live DMB taping). I used to do a lot of DMB stuff, but lately just lost interest.Pablo Escobar wrote:...but I do want to get one more show on BT to see if anyone likes it...but i'll decide when I get back from jazzfest.

That's what I'd assume. I used to be big into DMB and O.A.R back in college. We would go to all the O.A.R shows before anyone knew who they were. I remember seeing them in a front yard party of maybe 30 people. Kind of crazy to follow a band from the ground up. I've got some rare stuff of their's lying around somewhere (performances at BW3s). Sarnovsky used to be my go to guy for audio recordings. However, after graduating, corporate america's got me!Pablo Escobar wrote: Thank you, I tape a lot more than DMB...I do tape everything...It's just ah obby I love dearly. We as a group have to come up with a better solution for sharing lossless versions of the Sirius broadcasts. It looks like there are a few tapers out there, now all we need is a better way of distributing the shows to the masses.
I love the idea of torrenting the shows, but I don't know how many BN users out there would embrace the technology?
Does anyone want to start a private Buffett tracker? Is there a private tracker out there that wants Buffett shows that we can join?
Every show is being recorded, we just need to decide on a fast way of sharing the stuff.

I did the same thing with dmb and taper freidnly bands along with some stealth shows to go with it. Since my career is in radio, all i do for my sports station is cut audio tracks from interviews with sports stars.DeltOU wrote:That's what I'd assume. I never got big into OAR, but I know Sarnovsky, Vernal, Ice and Tbrisky...4 of the best tapers around today. And every show I ask for pointers and tips, and they are more than happy to oblige. I know the feeling of a band you see getting big..it sucks, but then again you are happy for them. I do not have a list b/c I don't liek to go 'public' in releasing shows, I used to do that but I stopped when I graduated college in 2002.

I, personally, tape every show. And I do too wish there was a better way to 'distribute' shows...but my main thing is patience with the newbies.u2hibby wrote:We as a group have to come up with a better solution for sharing lossless versions of the Sirius broadcasts. BT'ing is the easiest way to go, but how many people here would embrace the technology? Not that many IMO. Getting a private tracker will require webspace by some one, and some site...and then if you do get it are they going to allow to distribute shows that the artist doesn't allow taping and/or distributing, even though we tape for the love (at least for me anyway).
Then there's the DL, how will the newbies do it? Do you send uplaod the show to .shn or .flac? And then you have to teach them how to convert...then you send them to etree.org, anf even after they read the tutorial..they still don't understand. That's the problems I had last year in releasing my shows, I wanted to do a good thing...but all I did was raise more questions, and people expected a free show without them DL, and converting it themselves. I mean, it is easy!..You DL the show, convert it, and then burn it. The taper did all the work in taping it, editing it, and tracking it, and then releasing it. Everybody wants things easy, but how easy is it to DL the show? Again it brings up my point. Would they embrace the technology? Would they do it?

Re: 04.28.06 Dallas Show ***Download***
First off I want to thank you for uploading a great recording of the Dallas show. I burned it and it's as clean as as I have heard. Thank you. Also your show is now available from the download ftp. You know you have good stuff when you move from upload to download on Stoneys site.u2hibby wrote:I am currently looking to upload my recording (from Sirius) of the
04.28.06 show. The recording has been split and encoded into 192Kbps mp3 files. I still have the original flac files if anyone wants those?
So do we do this via Torrent or FTP?
Let me know your thoughts.
