"Salty Piece Of Land" Live Book Reading Broadcast

Post by spoonerhizolehound »

OK, I know we have some resourceful Parrottheads on here. So, I am reaching out to your compassionate side. Does anyone have or know someone who has this broadcast? I watched this show in a selected theatre in my neck o the woods and it was INCREDIBLE!!
The show was about 3 hrs long and had JB reading exerpts from the book, playing with the boys, doing Q&A with the audience and just being Jimmy. It was like having him in my living room for the night. If anyone has this broadcast or knows someone who does, please. please, please let me know. I would be forever in your debt. Thanks.

When the tickets for this show went on sale, ticketmaster limited sales to the Gulf Coast area and the website said they would cancel orders from anyone who didn't live in the area - I think it was Louisiana, Mississipi, Alabama and the Florida panhandle. Being from NY, I tried to get tickets anyway. I got front row. TM canceled my order, just like they said they would. But I saw it in a theater and was hoping they'd release a DVD.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

We were in New Orleans in the 5th row, Flew there for 1 night from Indiana. I would love to get a copy of this.
I have emailed Mailboat Records twice and they said they were planning to release a DVD. I have not heard anything lately, no DVD yet, maybe we should all contact Mailboat and let them know we would all love to see this nights recording for sale on DVD. I'm afraid if they wait too long they will never produce the DVD.

Radio Margaritaville takes show replay requests. If enough people aske I'm sure they'll fit it in.

They probably can't get the rights to replay that one since the show was produced by an outside company who did the broadcast. I'm sure they hold a certain amount of control over the show.
