I waaaay prefer draft beer. Bottles second. Cans only when there is no other option....

I like to try local microbrews when I visit somewhere.
Hey SGH,

I'm sure you've tried the beers produced by Coddington Brewery in Newport, too. My wife and I make at least one stop there every time we visit on vacation. They do a nice job.... [smilie=coolup.gif]

I love going to local brew pubs and, in fact, we visited Ram's Head Tavern in Annapolis, MD with friends last weekend. Great drafts and the beer batter shrimp are unbelievable!!!

So much beer, so little time......

One of my favorite "locals" has a beer (bottle & can) menue much larger that their food menue and with about 60 on draft. Many of the brands that have been mentioned on this thread have been sampled. GREAT place. If you find yourself wanting to tour Gettysburg it's a shot trip to Hanover to KClinger's. And if in Gettysburg visit the Appalacian Brewing Co. very nice menue of their own brews.

When I'm out and about I drink Miller Lite. I can drink it all night
and still get through a dui checkpoint unscathed. I don't like Coor's
Light (gives me gas), Carling Black Label (tastes like crap), or
Yuengling Chesterfield Ale (ditto). Other that that I'll drink any
beer you put in front of me. My two favorites? "Free" and "More"! :pirate:

My choice is the delicious nectar from the Gods... Yeungling Lager or if your from Pa. You just ask for it by Lager. Ive also started trying Microbrews. I like Troegs alot they have a seasonal called Mad Elf. Yummy.

I will admit to liking Landshark. I drove to Baltimore to buy a couple cases for a party we had. They arent selling it in Pa yet. A lot of liked it believe it or not.

If I am going to make an evening of it; I usually drink Corona, 'cause I can drink lots of 'em without getting too full or too 'overserved'.

For a beer that actually has some flavor; I like Yuengling Lager, Killians, or Amber Bock about as well as anything.

My most memorable beers were more about location than the beer:

A cold Polar (local Venezuelan beer) in a little hole in the wall in San Cristobal, Venezuela. We had been in there the day before and they only served beer warm, we left a tip that we found out later was the equivalent to well over a weeks wages for the server. We went back the next night and he had cold beer waiting, just in case we showed up! :o

Another time we were drinking draft Boddington in a little hotel bar near Wharton, England. Apparently the law in England is that a hotel bar can serve as long as patrons are drinking. They kept closing the doors, and told us to come up to the main desk if we needed another. We kept at it til after 4AM, then went in to the office at 7:30  .

I happen to prefer brewery beer as well to regular domestic beer.

Right now I'm drinking Gordon Biersch Hefeweisen (I bought a 64 oz at the restaurant a couple of weeks ago and they refill it for $10. I would consider this my favorite beer :)

You talkin bout the Gordon over in Bolingbrook? I was over there not too long after they opened up. Haven't had a chance to make it back there.

Crap! We were just there two weeks ago and missed it!

We were really surprised by the quality of the food at the Wharf Rat- the beer was pretty decent (we both preferred the Bitter they do for Bertha's to theirs), but the food was really good!
