My other thread about "Favorite Pizza" caused a little debate about "proper" Austrailian beers...... :o

Makes me wonder what is your favorite foreign beer?????

I've come to like Carib, a lager brewed in the Caribbean (imagine that!), when chartering sailboats in the BVI. Maybe it's just because anything cold tastes good in the tropics!!!

Also, I favor the English-brewed John Courage ale, too. :pirate:

I like Carib. Red Stripe and Caribe are cheap in Anguilla (the ONLY things that are cheap in Anguilla... :o )

I have had a few of Sarnacs varieties. The ones i had were OK, but underwhelming.
I like the Black Forest the best IIRC. The Pale Ale's OK too.

I like microbrews and try as many as varieties as I can. Currently I have this fascination with Redhook Longhammer IPAs.

Life is too short to drink cheap beer, unless there is nothing else good to drink...

Shiner Black Lager has been getting a lot of time in front of me lately.

I recommend it.

Longhammer is a good beer, we had it on at my bar for awhile.

Where is that brewed? Is it available nationally?

They also brew it in Portsmouth, NH and it is available nationally but it's easier to find locally.

Although I also loved this beer, back when it was still made on Stock Island.

Bfan53 wrote:I don't think that anyone yet has mentioned Newcastle Brown Ale, another from Great Britain. Very nice...... [smilie=coolup.gif]

And I recently got a 6-pack of J. W. Dundee Honey Brown lager, brewed in Rochester, NY. Smooth, unique taste that's a nice change of pace....

Maybe we BNers could get some kind of beer tasting/rating post started. Any interest????

P. S. to Big John: Can you PM me with the name of the bar in Marysville and directions? Maybe some of us in the area can plan a mini-phlocking sometime soon......
I'd be interested in doing a beer tasting/rating thread....I'm normally grabbing somethin new to try, and would like to get some recommendations...
BTW, I did mention Newcastle...back on page 1....it's one of my favorites, especially on tap

Hey C-Dawg,

Yeah, feel free to start a beer tasting/rating thread. I'd be interested. Have any ideas about how to do it?

Sorry I missed your early post on Newcastle. It's excellent on tap, but difficult to find in my part of the world. Usually just have to be content with cases of glass bottles instead.....
