Seeing this thread alive again, I was curious how many hawaiian shirts my husband and I have collected (second hand stores only) over the years. I stopped counting at 60......guess I have enuf......

I'm afraid there are never "enuf" My heart just goes pitter patter every time a see one I don't already have... I'm pretty fickle when it comes to Aloha shirts...

Way back when my Mother was going to Hawaii every year or so for a while she met some people there that sold shirts on the beach. They would travel to the west coast a couple of times a year and search Goodwill and Salvation Army stores (among many) and buy the shirts take them back and sell them. They told her that they probably have sold many shirts more then two or three times.

I love it! Maybe the same people bought their old shirt back! You often wonder about the one that got away....
I was thinking of what to do with some of my older and more care worn shirts. Some of them are just too old to date anymore, let alone wear, but I can't bear to part with them. I figures I could cut quilt squares out and when I have enuf I could make a throw.

I had a quilt made out of my old University of Washington Husky shirts.
Those were T-shirts though.

We haven't seen anything we like, so if you happen to see a hawaiian type shirt with a bowling print on it that doesn't look stoopid, please let me know.
If you try googling bowling hawaiian shirts, you pretty much get regular 'bowling shirts', mostly solid color or with a stripe, and that's not what we are looking for.
