MP3 encoder

Post by gmf46car »

I need a MP3 converter to transfer wav files to save some C disk space.
Can anyone recommend a free MP3 converter to use w/ total recorder?

Thanks

Ever consider an external Hard Drive?
I have a couple of these.
(BB regularly puts them on sale for less than $100)
Some people never find it, some only pretend
But me, I just want to live happily ever after every now and then.

I have been using this program for years.
mkw Audio Compression Tool

It's free! One nice feature is that you can right mouse click on the file(s) you want to convert and it choose how you want to conver (SHN, MP3, ect) it and it will open the program for you and start the conversion.

There is an mp3 encoder built into itunes, windows media player, etc.

I use MediaMonkey with the LAME codec, usually encode to around 192kb/s or so. Pretty good quality for the space.

I was just going to suggest iTunes. You just import the wav and then right click and select "Convert Selection to MP3."
