Margaritas Made With True Crystals??

Post by FunkHouse9 »

Have any of you ever made Margaritas using a mixer called True Crystals? A local Mexican restaurant serves EXCELLENT margaritas and the recipe is something they guard quite carefully. After going there for years, last night my wife was able to get one of the servers to share the recipe with her. The key ingredient is True Crystals. I did a search for it online and it's basicly freeze dried lime juice with lime and orange flavors to replace triple sec.

Have any of you used this stuff before. I found it for sale online but it looks like you've got to buy it sort of in bulk as opposed to just one package.

Had I found this stuff a week ago, I'd have bought a bulk quantity. But I'm going to see Jimmy on Monday and that's not enough time to get it shipped to me. You need to buy them in increments of 6 14 ounce packages. I'm pretty sure that's a good supply of this stuff. Since I don't know how long it stays good, and considering the frequency I make my own margaritas, I don't know if it's worth it.

if it's in a crystal form, it should have a fairly long shelf life.

PS I sent packets of it to our troops in iraq to flavor their water with. For every sample you get from their website they send the same to our troops. Who can argue with that??? They send a great handful of packets too! plus a coupon!

I don't think that's the same stuff. The stuff I'm looking at is an alcoholic beverage mixer. It's made by a different company.

The stuff you showed looks good too though. I signed up for a free sample too.

Yeah, that's the stuff. I just don't want to buy 84 ounces of the mix before I know I'll be able to make good margs with it myself.

I was going to make a little joke where I suggest a milkshake instead of a margarita but that might be inappropriate.

I heard a lot of negitivity about CIP...But I think they make the best margirita EVER!!! Orange seems to be key. so maybe you're on to something with the orange crystals.
