So good to see the song introductions at the beginning of the tracks! :) :)

But I wonder if Somewhere Over China should not also be included in this collection? It was, after all, in the broadcast from the Woodlands show, and it WAS in the encore (but technically Come Monday was last...). Even though it was played in Hong Kong in 2008, Somewhere Over China has not been played live since 1999.

http://www.buffettnews.com/resources/songs/?song=85

I was wanting to enhance this compilation, and I thought about songs that have been played just once on this tour... That's really how Somewhere Over China came to mind. But there's several other songs that fall into the "just played once in 2008, not the final encore, but broadcast on RM" category... Maybe it's enough material for another thread??

Of course, we could always make another list for those songs only played only twice this year!

Those songs in the played once and not duplicated category...

Blue Tarp Blues (just Sonny and band, Woodlands, TX, 4/21/08 )
Gulf Coast Highway (Woodlands, TX, 4/21/08 )
Hell at Home (just Sonny and band, Raleigh, NC, 6/7/08 )
Hey Good Lookin' (Bridgeview, IL, 7/24/08 )
Hey, Bo Diddley (East Troy, WI, 7/19/08 )
Jamaica Farewell (Cincinnati, OH, 7/17/08 )
Manana (Bristow, VA, 8/30/08 )
Mexico (Woodlands, TX, 4/21/08 )
Ragtop Day (Bristow, VA, 9/1/08 )
The Weather Is Here, Wish You Were Beautiful (Mansfield, MA, 9/6/08 )
They Don't Dance Like Carmen No More (Bristow, VA, 9/1/08 )
What If The Hokey Pokey Is All It Really Is About? (Cincinnati, OH, 7/17/08 )
Hey Snake, we need more wine!

It was a bit unusual that he did Come Monday as the last song encore. He probably did that since he can play it acoustically... Somewhere Over China definitely needs the full CRB.

It's funny you mention that. Another PH and I have been thinking about something like that. Kinda like a fantasy concert of songs that never actually happened all together. We were gonna put together the songs that were unique to particular shows like some you listed below and/or songs that are rarely played during this tour. We're Still Here comes to mind. We would probably not include too many Yellow album tracks, but we definitely gotta include Rainy Day Women! JUST KIDDING!!

That's a good setlist to start with. I'm kinda waiting until after the west coast shows next month to see what goodies he puts into the shows. Of course, I will update this Encores thread, but also consider a "Played Once During This Tour" (or similar) thread.

Don't tell anyone tho! Gotta keep a few surprises around here...

So I wonder just how many of us began creating similar iPod playlists this year? I know I did. Yours adds those audio-wiz extras that make it so much better. Once again, you rock, SunLover! Downloading now..... Thanks.

Hey I know first-hand how much work it is to cut the tracks... Starting with a good source file... but now that's a given these days...

And then ya gotta upload all the files and make those links from mediafire and the post all those links at BN! That's so much work!

Maybe we need another poll???

Burned my "Encores" cd for the road trip to my Dad's this weekend. On a rewritable cd, so I can add the remaining shows later. 8)

Excellent!! Thanks very much!!
I LOVE those final acoustic encores! (Except, of course, for the fact that that means the show is over...)

Sunlover, are you feeling the "love" from everyone. I too really appreciate all your efforts. :D

I too have compiled a playlist with my Ipod of songs that aren't heard to often or at all. My kids got agitated because they were hearing some of the same songs. What can i say, I have my favorites. So now they can't say that anymore. I have a ton of songs on my playlist that even they have never heard.

With a little tweaking in the names, this makes an awesome iPod addition.
