Suggestions from the 1980s and 1990s...

Post by SharkysMV1 »

Hi,

Upon receiving a new (and higher-capacity) iPod this Christmas, I am looking to add some JB shows from the 1980s and 1990's (pre-RM era). I have a handful from the mid 1970s, so I'm all set there. If possible, can someone suggest some higher-quality sounding shows from the '80s and '90s that are on Jokelben? I understand that many are audience recordings, but if someone could point me in the direction of a few higher quality sounding shows (or which ones are radio-broadcast), it would be hugely appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Live at Lulus was good. I have it on my Ipod and its a good small show. Its from november '01. Not really '80s or '90s but its pre RM.
Still, it's all a mystery,

Thanks, yes, that is a great show. However, I'm looking for some gems from the 80s and 90s; as RM didn't really enter the picture until 98/99 (I have many from '99-present).

Live at Lulu's was an RM broadcast to celebrate Jimmy & Lulu's mothers birthday

Right. And a dang fine show. It was October 03, 2001.

I'd like to suggest the Cocktails at Sunrise/Sunset, which is 1973 (?) Sausalito and 1994 Jones Beach. Great quality.
And is the Record Plant San Francisco show really October 24, 1974 or 1973?

Can someone tell me if the Telluride Show is actually 1980 instead of 1983?

Sorry about that. I must have gotten my dates mixed up. I was thinking RM didn't start til about '01, but now that I think about it, yes, you are right.

Staying within the 'concert/album-live' and '1980-1998' parameters, here's what takes up space on my iPod. Interesting that I also have lots before and after that time period. Although, I do have a number of concerts from various sources in this time period that I just haven't opened up yet.

Fremantle - 1984-01-31 - Fremantle, Western Australia
Live By The Bay - 1985-08-17 - Miami, FL
Cocktails At Sunrise - 1994-01-01 - Sausalito, CA & Jones Beach, NY
Walden Woods Benefit - 1993-09-06 - Foxborough, MA
Meeting Of The Minds - 1998-11-07 - Key West, FL
