Thin Line Between Saturday Night and Sunday Morning at the MSC

Post by PetalMel »

Morning, Kids!

Well, the line is a bit thicker than it used to be back in the day. I think back on the days when I could stay up all night. I kinda do now, but usually it is a midnight bathroom break or insomnia….

Usual Sunday chores with laundry and reconciling the bank account so I don’t overdraw funds before the mortgage check clears. Might do a bit of shopping since I need to get something nice to wear to my girl kid’s college graduation.

For now, another cup of coffee is on the agenda. The dog is still snoring upstairs. She enjoys sleeping in more than me it seems.

Enjoy your Sunday, all!
well, ummmmmmm, yah, I guess I better come up with something witty to put in this spot since everyone is reading it.......

Good morning Mel!! :D

I had to laugh about the 'insomnia/bathroom break'..

I got ALMOST all the things on the walls down yesterday.. Cameron got a few of the ones I couldn't reach. Now I get to go through them so I can get them boxed up. Some are good big for boxes, so they'll have to stay loose.

Another pretty day here, mid 70's and sunny.

Have a wonderful Sunday!! :D

Good morning Mel and Penny.

The baseball season started last week and the Mets won their opening day game again. Their record on opening day is 42-23, the highest winning percentage of any team in major league baseball. The Mets, of all teams. :o

Hi there! Driving up a hill on a local highway we flushed an eagle that cleared the guard rails and flew up the road ahead of us, but not fast enough. As I spiked the brakes, the white tail feathers barely cleared the hood.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Hello all :D

Skipping lunch to have an early dinner...Uno Pizza leftovers. It's been a while since I've had it, but it was amazing albeit expensive! $80 or so for tenders and fries, sweet potato fries, a large Imperial pizza, R.I.-style calamari, and a medium Farmers Market pizza. Sure beats the regular town pizza place (which I love). :D :D
Jerry...from Massachusetts. I'd like to go where it's warm! :D

Oh my gosh, what a sight that must have been, Bill!

Tigers are 2 and 1 with an off day today. I think the are in Seattle starting tomorrow. At least are somewhere on the left coast. Home opener is Friday. They are saying 50’s and rain. To Moore we are supposed to have 70’s. I am ready to open windows and enjoy it!

We have a nesting pair of bald eagles about a mile from us (as the crow flies) and it's so cool to see them soaring around and just being cool. Every once is a while the crows will start pestering them and I'll watch, hoping that the eagles will say "enuff is enuff" and just absolutely nail one of the crows. Hasn't happened yet, but I still watch.

I'd watch that, too! I hate crows.

One of the stranger and more dangerous animal/vehicle interactions here in Australia happens with our wedge-tailed eagles.

These are massive birds. The largest can have a wingspan over nine feet and a body three feet long. They get up to more than 12 pounds in weight.

They actively hunt large mammals but also eat carrion. So when there is a large kangaroo road kill on the road they will gorge themselves - to the point where they struggle to take off.

So when you approach them in a vehicle at say 90 miles an hour on an outback road, they can't get out of the way and may join you in the cabin with disastrous results!

We sat with some friends over coffee. They had all 6 grand kids, no older than middle school hunt for 4 leaf clovers in their yard. Grandpa offered a dollar for one.

He paid out 36$.

He capped payment at 6$ per kid. Once that was hit the kids would look for the other kids including one with special needs who can't use her hands.

Hey everyone. We slept late so it was the late church service for us.

We made a trip to Walmart for 6 gallons of distilled water which is used for both our CPAP machines. But 1 will be used on Saturday when Kevin brews another keg of beer.

On another exciting note 🤣 we can both get the entire way around our cars when parked in the garage!!! All thanks to the storage shelves mounted in the ceiling. (It’s the little things in life).

:( You're both having to use them? I think they're awful, ONLY because they put one on E and he promptly yanked that thing off.

Glad you can park now, tho!! :D

YIKES!!! :o I remember reading somewhere that Australia had more deadly fauna than anywhere else in the world... I thought it was an exaggeration... now I am thinking it was simply a statement of fact! That eagle sounds similar to a Harpy Eagle, which I thought was the largest species...

We have a few Bald Eagles in our area... I've not been lucky enough to spot any, but I have seen photos in our town's FB group... one just today, in fact.
