Dancing to the Rock & Roll SATURDAY @ the MSC
Good Morning:
Anyone else remember the Bay City Rollers? Perfect song at the roller rink - as in 4 wheels per white skate with a bright pink pom pom on the top of each.
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source= ... K8eosdDrmn
Heading out to return the 2 upholstery samples we brought home yesterday for a new sofa & love seat. They are WAY too dark. We will look for something else and then also visit another store.
Neighbor friends coming for a few drinks & rounds of Sequence.

Good morning Linda and BN!
Yep, I used to work in a roller skating rink! White skates, no adornment on them tho.. I worked behind the snack counter, and the front desk taking in $ for tickets.
Had a great time.
Cameron and Sarah stopped by last night to bring me a new sound bar to go with the new TV I bought.
It sounds great. Mother's Day gift.

Good morning Linda and Penny.
The Hurricanes play tonight, they're going for another 4 game sweep.
Vegas played last night, they have a player from Huntsville, AL. The announcer said he's only the third player in the history of the NHL born in Alabama and one of the others was also from Huntsville. The Vegas player has an interesting back story, his father is a doctor, his mother is a nurse and they were both born in England.

We exchanged upholstery samples at the store we visited yesterday.
Then drove a few miles to another store. Picked out samples and then styles of seats, arms, cushions etc for a different company.
The 2nd store is double the price

And I'm hoping for a 3-0 Avalanche lead in their game.LIPH wrote: May 9, 2026 11:49 am The Hurricanes play tonight, they're going for another 4 game sweep.

Furniture has been ordered. Custom order = 5-8 wks. Weāll hope for 10 since we havenāt had much luck with southern timing.
Had a few spritzes today that so far havenāt amounted to anything.

I was on my way to the park earlier and it started raining. I didn't feel like walking in the mall so I turned around and headed home. By time I got home I won't say it was a bright sunshiny day but the rain had stopped. I should have gone to the park anyway. If I got wet I would have dried out eventually.

Well, no rain whatsoever here.
But I have hung 5 things... 2 needed measuring, 1 needed the step ladder.

Good late-afternoon, BNers!
And YES... I do remember the Bay City Rollers! Because I am, what's that word, again... oh yeah, OLD!
A misty-rainy day here in MA... which is great for the emerging Spring blossoms and grass... not so great to look at, though!
FedEx dropped off my Mother's Day present today from my son and DIL - a Key Lime bush! It needs bright sun, so it will be perfect on our south-facing front stoop and then in our foyer for the colder winter. I am glad I did not go to the nursery this week, after all! I will still need to pick up some annuals and herbs, but now I won't need any "porch plants"!
Nothing much else is happening around here except needing to head to a neighbor's for evening cat-feeding - and I WILL drive the 1/2 mile, because, like Larry, I wish to avoid getting wet!
Linda - good luck with that sofa. I do recall "Southern timing" has a calendar all its own!
Panny - Is that the sound bar UNDER the TV? You can barely notice it! I've been to some people's homes where it is MUCH more obtrusive! VERY nice gift - especially since it included the "cord management" as well!
Larry - As I said above... I think it is always best to opt for staying dry! There will be other park days to enjoy!

Re: Dancing to the Rock & Roll SATURDAY @ the MSC
Hi there! I saw an old friend who had a rare form of pancreatic cancer. It was a death sentence, but a new drug from a New York cancer center turned it around.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

And yes, it CAN fit under the TV, but just barely, so I keep it about a half inch from pushing it under.

The road trip continues... we're now on the the Adriatic coast in Mola di Bari, originally a small fishing village, but now more dependant on agriculture and tourism (in the summer).

Hey, whatever helps a man catch fish!

The pescatori (fish market) is across the street from the marina and each day the fishermen bring their catch here to sell to the townspeople and the chefs from all the restaurants.

We made a day trip to Matera, thought to be the oldest continually occupied city on earth, with continuous occupation dating back to prehistory (the eighth millennium BC).

You can see the evidence of some of the caves that the first inhabitants lived in.
