She responded, "What is today's date"? Then she referenced my itinerary & said, Oh we must HERE.
This is precisely when I decided I had had enough of touring, working with bands.

One morning the road crew were gathered having breakfast (one of the few times we had motel rooms, I might add) and someone asked "where are we and where do we need to be this afternoon?".

Someone else asked "what day is it?". We had to turn on the TV and look at the morning news to find the date (this was long before the internet and smartphones), then we had to go out to the truck to get the running lists to work out which town we were in.

All of the clubs and pubs start to look the same, as do the motels and main streets.

At that point I thought "it might be time to stay home for a while after this tour"!

   At a Bruce Springsteen concert a good 15 years back he came to town and announced, HELLO OHIO! Only problem was he was in Michigan, the state north of Ohio. Thought he was just joking but no, another band member had to set him straight
