Semi True Story SUNDAY @ the MSC

Post by bodypainter »

Believe it or not......Good morning BN. I had a sister who was a pathological liar. She should have been a politician.I, on the other hand, speak the truth with glorious embellishment.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good morning Bill and BN! :)

Seriously, Bill? Was she older or younger than you? None in my family, that I was aware of. :P

Super foggy outside and low 60's. Probably because of the rain/moisture that we had late yesterday. I'll take it!!

A few small chores around here today. Probably wash a couple of mirrors, and my inside car windows.

Have a good Sunday! :)

My oldest sister, when confronted about her lying would laugh and say she was joking.

Good afternoon Bill and Penny.

I went out for my daily walk but the heat index is over 100 so I went to the mall instead of the park. I saw a guy wearing a T-shirt that had a picture of a bottle of beer on it and it said BAD DAY TO BE A BEER. I'm going to make it a bad day for one of the beers in my fridge.

When I got home, just as I was pulling into the parking lot the DJ was mentioning things that happened on August 16. Woodstock started this day in 1969. He also said the first issue of Sports Illustrated was published this week, but he didn't say what day. The DJ should do some research though, he said Eddie Mathews of the Milwaukee Brewers was on the cover of the first issue. The Brewers didn't exist in 1954, Mathews played for the Milwaukee Braves.

Hello my BN friends!

It is so very very very (see what I did there :lol) hot here. The bluegrass concert we went to yesterday afternoon at the Horry County Museum (in Conway, SC - about 25 mins from us) was really nice. Not usually my kind of music but I appreciate the talent as I am NO musician. It started storming with horrendous downpours about 10 mins before the end of the show. We checked radar and knew the museum would be locked up long before the storm would stop. Luckily I had gone to the car for my water during the intermission and I grabbed an umbrella since I heard far off rumblings at that time. Even with the umbrella we were both soaked just getting to the car. The drive home took longer as the rain was pounding and the roads were quickly starting to flood in some places. It started to clear out and then 5 mins from home it hit again. We had 1.5" in our rain gauge by the time it stopped. Today is HOT and humid with no indication we got any rain yesterday.

We are meeting a PA friend & her husband for her birthday dinner tonight at an Italian restaurant (where we've never been). They have a time-share and come to North Myrtle Beach for their vacation. They had visited with us at the house last summer and it will be nice to see them again.

Not much excitement on our schedule this week. I'm compiling a list of "touristy" places that we will visit since it's probably about time we see why the tourists come here (we did for 3 years when our kids were little but, obviously, ALOT has changed since then). Plus the activities with did with them are a lot different than what we want to do now.

Enjoy what's left of your Sunday -- see you tomorrow.

Not so great research... but I looked, and it doesn't say the exact date SI was published. But Brett Favre was on the cover. Elvis Presley also died on this day in 1977.

Good early evening everyone! :D
I am just about to grill some steak tips for dinner. I was also going to make a brown sugar loaf, but it appears that the kitchen stock has run dangerously low!

Well I am up a little bit early today. Ajax (the puppy) has been going a bit nuts.

He is wearing a 'cone of shame' after surgery to try and fix his damaged eyelid. He is really getting frustrated with it. He also got desexed.

I think he is feeding off my anticipation this morning as well, as today is NCD – New Car Day! We're off to the dealer to collect the new ute and to farewell the trusty old workhorse.

I will freely admit that after looking through the owners manual for the new beast, all of the technology and driver assist stuff is quite daunting. The old Mitsubishi struggled to play music over Bluetooth—tech wasn't in its list of features!!!

I had to look up "steak tips". I had no idea what this was, I am still a little confused. I get that they are little chunks of steak, I imagine they originally started as a use for the off-cuts of the butchering process, but some of the recipes talk about using perfectly good, expensive cuts—this is the bit I don't get!

Steak tips are an absolute classic dish across New England, enjoyed at many pubs, bars, and American-style restaurants. They're often grilled or seared, then served with a mound of creamy mashed potatoes and a side of greens or a salad.

Good luck with the new car and puppy!!!

Just bread with brown sugar as the main sweetener! Much sweeter since it doesn't use yeast. :)

I've gotten 3 weather alerts on my phone about a severe thunderstorm warning in the last 1/2 hour. The sky is a little darker than it had been but no rain, wind, thunder or lightning yet.

Mainers on a Canadian fishing trip brought the bread served with baked beans and franks. New England comfort food. I also saw it on Anthony Bourdain.

I took my two oldest grand kids to OCMD for a few days. We couldn't swim in the ocean because of the worst jellyfish
infestation in years. We still managed to have a good time. :pirate: :pirate: :wench:
