In The Green Grass SATURDAY @ the MSC

Post by bodypainter »

Good morning BN. I had a front row seat at Holmdel and Jimmy joined me doing air bongos.

Last night my PHriend Bern got us seats at Peter Mayer's Christmas concert. That will be the fourth time this year seeing him.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good morning Bill and BN! :)

Up a bit early today, as I'm joining Cameron and Sarah on a "Migraine Walk". She suffers from them so much, and this is to raise $ for research and such. I probably won't be walking the 5K, cause I haven't done any training for it.

Hope you have a good Saturday!! :D

Good morning Bill and Penny.

I never saw Peter Mayer's Christmas show, but I'm not a big fan of Christmas music.

It's supposed to be another day with a heat index over 100, maybe I'll stay indoors today.

Well, I'm back from the "Walk".. I walked a lot to get to the event, but didn't do the walk. Instead I stayed put while everyone walked/ran. The guy who finished 1st, did a 5K in 15 minutes!!! :o :o :o The 2 mile walk took the kids/her family 45 minutes. :D

Much to LIPH’s dismay, he sang this one in concert 824 times.

Can't remember back then Lord
Sometimes I'm overcome thinkin' 'bout
Makin' love in the green grass
Behind the stadium
With you, my brown eyed girl
Do you remember when
We used to sing
Sha la la la la la la la la la la ti da

The original, but a little different....

Another cover....

No, Sir. I don't like it. Never have.

I didn't like Van Morrisons version and I don't like any other cover. It gets skipped whn it pops up on my random plays.

A BROWN- EYED GIRL trifecta!! Thank you, Mr. SPH!!
I may have shared this story back in the day... but I was at a grocery store with my daughter once, I think she was about 8 or 9... and the music system was playing Van Morrison's version, she heard it and said "Listen! Somebody else is doing Jimmy's song!"

I don't dislike Brown Eyed Girl, I just don't think we needed to hear it at every show. Now someone who disliked the song was Kate. When Buffett played Brown Eyed Girl she used to post a picture on Facebook standing with her back to the stage at every show she went to. I would just make it my bathroom break song

My she-'keet Nicole [smilie=battingeyes.gif] (who went to her first Buffett concert when she was 10) said the same thing when she heard CS&N on the radio singing Southern Cross.

I agree. I liked the song, but didn't have to have the song at every show.

So I went to dinner (at Dukes) with E's family friend Misty, her son (surprise guest, who I like), and former next-door neighbor Elizabeth. We had a GREAT meal and GREAT time. :D Lots of laughs.
