From The Bottom Of My Heart Monday @ the MSC

Post by SMLCHNG »

Good morning BN! :)

Will probably do one load of laundry today. I'm planning on running to the grocery store for a couple of things, and then pick up their mail. The mailboxes are a little ways down the road.

That's all I got from here.

Hope you all have a great Monday! :D

Good morning Penny, and anyone else who may be in lurk mode.

I prefer to drive to the grocery store, it's easier to get the groceries back home if I can put them in the car.

We have "Seattle rain" today, a light drizzle that's good for the flowers and lawns, but doesn't have much affect on the state-wide drought.
There won't be any Laboring done here today; it looks like a good day to catch up on my reading.

Ahhh, thank you for the music, Mr. SPH. It's one of my favorite songs. :D

No rain here, and also in drought mode all over the state.

The Carolina League season ended yesterday and the Pelicans didn't make the playoffs. They finished last in the South Division in both halves of the season. They won 27 games in the first half and 23 in the second half, a total record of 50-77. They had 5 games rained out. When I looked at the standings, one team finished the season on a 12 game losing streak and they still had 5 more wins than the Pelicans. The Cubs are going to have to sign some free agents because they're not getting any help from the minor leagues.

Hey everybody !!!

We LOVED the NASCAR race and the parking lots (all grass) reminded us of our JB tailgating times. It was hot but we had our EZup along to keep the blazing sun off of us.

But, quite the opposite of most venues, each person can have a backpack or soft sided cooler (no larger than 14" x 14" x 8") with any preferred beverage in a can or plastic container to take inside. We had plenty to drink (H2O only for us ), and some snacks.

We had seats comparable to an NFL 50 yard line spot. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. IT WAS LOUD !. We knew it would be but still.....so glad we had our little bright orange foam ear plugs from the drugstore. We would go again. When we "conversed" the 4 of us used the "Notes" section on our phones which worked really well.

We didn't really have a favorite driver since we didn't know anything about anybody so Kevin & I just picked a car by sponsor name :)....neither of which won but that's OK.

We are laying low today. The weather is awesome.....mid 80's with mid 50s humidity and a lively breeze. Kevin is grilling a steak to have with some shrimp for dinner and we may even be able to sit outside to eat since there's plenty of breeze to keep the nasty flies away....which never seem to be around UNTIL FOOD COMES OUT :(.

Labor Day Love to All.....

And the Rockies have a record of 55-88, pretty bad.

Hi there! I met some NASCAR PHolks at Cincy through BN. They were from Ohio and knew a former student who's a long track driver.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

I saw a guy today wearing a T-shirt that said PAWS, PINTS AND PARADISE. It had a bunch of dogs at a tiki bar and they were all standing on their hind legs wearing grass skirts and leis with drinks in their front paws. There was one dog without a drink, it was off to the side playing the guitar.

That's a great shirt!

Penny - I use the term "running" whenever I go out on errands too...and they ALWAYS involve a car! I think the nearest cash register is over 2 miles from me, and that is a lumber yard... The closest grocery store is somewhere between 5 and 6 miles!

Linda - I'm glad you enjoyed the race. I confess that I'm not a NASCAR fan either (growing up, the only car racing my Dad watched was the Indy 500) When Jim & I moved to Charlotte, I was floored by how popular it was!

Mr. SPH two great versions of a song that is near and dear to my heart! I dare say this "sequel" hits home so much more than the "original" does now.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Labor Day!

Yep, I haven't "run" since high school. :P And their grocery store is 6.2 miles from the house.

I haven't run since I stopped playing softball, I was 55 years old. Now I just run my mouth. My supermarket is 1 mile away.

When I'm at home, the grocery store is 0.3 miles from my apartment. 8) I could walk it, but don't wanna carry grocery bags.

Happy Labor Day everyone!

Some good friends of mine stopped by from Misssouri! They brought along another friend from New Jersey and stayed last night. We walked the freedom trail from the North End to Bunker Hill, which was quite the workout. Mike's Pastry was a nice treat... :D No lemon danishes, but they did have a few lemon squares lying around so I took 2. No lobstertail this time!

A nice moment was when Sweet Caroline came over the radio as we ate dinner :D
Jerry...from Massachusetts. I'd like to go where it's warm! :D
