I've been told I have played with too many boats. Nah, that's not possible!

I have been on big boats, little boats, flying boats, floating boats, jumping boats, sinking boats and sunken boats.

I have knowingly boarded sinking boats, burning boats and I have boarded both by sea and by air!

Would I ever own a boat again? Nope - there's no navigable waters around these parts!

Many years ago I went through my iTunes library and made a 4 CD Boats, Beaches Bars and Ballads set without using any Buffett songs. Give me a little time to open my library and I'll give you some boat songs.

Just over an hour on the highway to the Murray River I would think is the closest.

Sadly they are a vanishing species. Slow to reproduce and long lived.

The once mighty Murray River (or River Murray if you are from these parts????) is suffering from water extraction by cotton and rice farming two states away and recurrent droughts. The driest habitable continent on the planet and they grow rice and cotton... Don't get me started. :x

The Murray Cod is a spectacular river fish and I am told it fights like a marlin on the line.

Footnote: I LOVE Calypso!!! But I loved John Denver. Best show of his was at "Fiddlers Green" in Denver, (and singing "Rocky Mountain High" facing the mountains. :D It's the same place I saw Jimmy for the first time in 1996. :D
