Today is NATIONAL NUT DAY. National Nut Day is observed annually on October 22nd. This day is NOT about the neighbor that lives down the street or the co-worker who sings with their headphones on. It is a food holiday celebrating a healthy and nutritious snack.

The Hurricanes have a game tonight, they're playing in Edmonton. It starts at 9:00 Eastern time, maybe I'll watch it live instead of DVRing it

My nut horizon has expanded over the years. My younger days stuck with peanuts & cashews here & there. Later in life for health purposes have included almonds into the mix greatly. Blue Diamond Almonds are my go to as they've got many flavors that I am into. Honey Roasted, Chili & Lime, Mike's Hot Honey, Elote Mexican Corn, Habanero BBQ, Spicy Dill Pickle & Blueberry among my favs. Most of those I'll add to a salad, yogurt or oatmeal as well. Or do a mixed nut concoction with the peanuts, pecans or walnuts.

Both of to hot starts I see. You'd think the Oilers need to win a cup soon as their core superstars around 30 years old now To think guys like McDavid & Draisaitl weren't even born the last time a Canadian team won the cup! While teams in Florida, Vegas, & California have Championships. Bizzaro!

I was out this afternoon and I wanted to stop at the bank on the way home, I had a couple of questions and I'd rather speak to someone face to face than over the phone if I can. I was rushing to get there because it was a little after 2:30 and I remember from my banking days we always closed at 3:00. I got there with time to spare but on the way in I noticed the sign on the door says they're open until 5:00 Monday-Friday. I had even more time to spare than I thought. Good to know.

Hi there! It was 26 out when I hooked up the boat. We had breakfast and I drove slooooooowwwwllllyyy in dense fog for 20 miles to fish.It had warmed to 37 when I launched.

I am….. Emilia Marie (Emmy) arrived 2:07 am on Tuesday, October 20th. I’m actually at SJC aeroporto awaiting my flight home. Both of our ‘keets arrived in the two o’clock hour and so she followed the Johnson trend there, but both of ours were eight pounders (both two weeks late) and this little peanut was six plus pounds. Mammabear (or now Grandmamabear?) is staying for another week to help out.

Awwww, I just read this on FB. I really enjoyed him as an actor:

Tom Skerritt has died at the age of 93. The beloved veteran actor was best known for his roles in Alien (1979), Top Gun (1986), and Picket Fences (1992).
His family confirmed that he died of natural causes on October 21, 2026.
