Dis and Dat Wednesday @ the MSC

Post by SMLCHNG »

Good morning BN! :)

Tired this morning, as I stayed up watching the World Series. Still rooting for the Brewers. :)

Have the dishwasher to unload, and maybe run the vacuum.

Have a good Wednesday! :)

Good morning, Penny. We have an appointment an hour away with a little shopping and maybe meet a friend for lunch.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good morning.

After all the talk about bologna in Saturday's National Bologna Day thread, I bought a package of Oscar Mayer bologna when I went grocery shopping earlier. I forgot to get a package of Kraft American cheese, that would have made it a real sandwich.

That's a perfect sandwich for me, Larry. :D (I've actually changed from Kraft to Sargento)

Sorry, MsMod, I gotta root against the Brewers. I’m not necessarily a Rays fan, but I was a Seattle Pilots fan. The first MLB game that I attended was in 1969 at the Seattle Pilots’ home opener against the Chicago White Sox. As early as two months into the season, league offices were already talking about moving our new team to Milwaukee where a used car salesman named Bud Selig (yes, that Bud Selig) was trying to get a team. The next year, the team went to Spring Training as the Seattle Pilots but left as the Milwaukee Brewers.
A little bit of trivia…. Because this all happened so quickly, they didn’t have time to come up with new uniforms (they wanted to use blue and red), all they could do was replace the names on Seattle’s blue and gold uniforms. Also, it all happened so late that there aren’t any 1970 TOPPS Milwaukee Brewers baseball cards, but there are cards for the 1970 Seattle Pilots.
The city of Seattle, King County, and Washington state all filed multiple lawsuits claiming breach of contract. After years of haggling, the lawsuits were dropped when the league approved an expansion team for Seattle. The Seattle Mariners began play in 1977. I was at that home opener too….

Continuing the baseball theme, here's a triple play for ya.....
It's interesting to note the "maturing" of the band...

First, Mr. SPH, thank you for the music!! Very enjoyable.

And while I understand your feelings about the baseball history, I only have 2 reasons. I'm a National League gal (Cubs NOT White Sox, and the Rockies), and the Brewers make me think about Bob Uecker. :D That's it.

I've always been an American League fan... As a child of the 50's, and without a team of my own, I was a Yankees fan, idolizing Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford. I did stray for a while, when I was a fan of the 70's Big Red Machine. But it's been Mariner Blue and Gold since 1976. The Brewers started out a an AL team too..... :-P
Another bit of trivia... the first player picked by the Pilots in the 1968 Supplemental draft was a kid named Lou Pinella. He was traded to the KC Royals during Spring Training and so he never played for Seattle but managed them for ten seasons.

I went out for a late lunch. On the way home I was stopped at a red light and the car in front of me had a decal in the rear window. It had the Morton salt logo, the girl with an umbrella standing in the rain, and it said DON'T BE A SALTY B-!TCH. BN censored the B word

I'm watching Guys Grocery Games on Food Network, and it's from just a little over a year ago - one of the contestants name is "Denise Elrod".. [smilie=battingeyes.gif]
