Hey everybody, hope all is well for the PH's out there. I've not been able to listen to shows on RM or listen to bootlegs burned on CD's. Hopefully, in the next few weeks I'll be getting broadband. I was just curious as to the sound quality of the recordings b/c I'd love to get a hold of a lot of the shows that I've been too. Do they sound as good as something like Feeding Frenzy or YHTBT? If so, that would be amazing. Once I get fast internet I'd love to get started. Thanks so much

Sound great, sometimes
They sound good and aren't hard to listen to at all. They pretty much screen out the audience noise. Some broadcasts are better than others. Some are prone to dropouts. All in all a wonderful thing.
For quality, they will never compete with Feeding Frenzy or the other live CD's.
Still hard for me to imagine an artist willing to broadcase his shows live.

Some sound samples for you
I created a couple sound samples if you want to download them. They are from the Atlanta June 29, 2002 show. I streamed this show on broadband using Real Player (excellent show, btw).
I have three downloads for you. One is the original high bandwidth feed. The second is the same track after I enhanced it. If you can download a larger file (about 1.3MB), the third download is a combined edit of the original and enhanced versions.
Original Stream (676k)
My enhanced edit (676k)
Combined edit (1.3M)
Even though you can select "stereo" on Radio Margaritaville, the concert stream itself is not stereo.
I'm curious to know if the concert replays are better than the live broadcasts. Are they from a recording at the show (off the soundboard) or a recorded replay of the RM signal? I just haven't had a chance to catch a replay yet (gotta remind myself...)

so, what did you use to "enhance" those?

Enhancing
Think I prefer the original. To each his own I suppose. Roxio Pro offers some options to do this. I use Cool Edit 2000 to do some things. RM doesn't need much help. Some of the older bootlegs need a lot.
