The original Dukes isn't that old. It was established in 1992 and named for the great suffer. I'll stick with the myth of the song like Margaritaville.

One of the beaches I grew up on in Sydney has this statue of Duke - he was the first to surf in Australia (at the ironically named Freshwater Beach)
