btw ... The funny thing was it took going upstairs to use the bargain-basement $58.00 Best-Buy-special GE DVD player I got for the kids to see it, as it didn't work either on my $$$ DELLcomputer OR the more expensive VDD-VCR combo in my family room!

Goes to prove that sometimes cheaper may be better!
Well ... it doesn't, and even if it did play on this POS computer it would sound like a concert alternating between Barry White and Alvin & The Chipmunks7lords wrote:When it comes to VCD's - yesAs long as you have the right codec on your Dell you should be able to play it through your software DVD player.

For sound problems, try defragmenting your hard drive. I had similar problems before and that fixed it for me.Caribbean Soul wrote:Well ... it doesn't, and even if it did play on this POS computer it would sound like a concert alternating between Barry White and Alvin & The Chipmunkssince the useless Tech Support at Dell
STILL cannot get my sound working properly.

I found this vcd/media player that you could try, it is a free download. It is available for most operating systems.http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ hope that you can get your Dell working betterCaribbean Soul wrote:Hey thanks for the tip.rbp27 wrote:For sound problems, try defragmenting your hard drive. I'll try that! It's definitely worth a shot, and sounds way better than the latest "fix" Dell-Hell
wants me to do... un-install and then re-install my operating system!
