Wow. Thank God for techno people like you. I would have no idea how to do that.

Can't wait to see your stuff. Such a great way to revisit concerts we have been to.
I have read through this topic but see nothing that speaks of etiquette.
Recently, I had someone instructing people on a vine that I was starting to jump off of my vine and join his. This person did not ask me if I needed or wanted help to move things along quicker. He just barged in and told people "don't wait in line. join my vine."
There is absolutely NO etiquette to this. If a person is seeding a vine, etiquette dictates that you contact the seeder if you would like to help. If the seeder does not require your assistance and has everything under control, than perhaps the next time you can help.
I created my own server for people to download shows because I was never given permission to upload to the site that is open to all. Why? Because it is not mine and I don't have permission. I wouldn't even entertain the notion of trying to sway people from another seeder's vine to join a duplicate vine nor would I start one.
I browse the vines to see if there are any hold ups or people holding them up. If I see that a vine is suffering from this and it is moving really slow, I will ask the seeder if he/she would like my help to speed things up.
It's pretty much common sense and courtesy - a no brainer. If someone is seeding a vine, you don't force your way in or try to mess up what is already in progress. If you want to help - ask.
Those are my thoughts and views.
While we are on the subject of vines... Is it just me or is bad karma to start a vine for a show before the show has even taken place? I notice some of us browse these boards pretty frequently and sometimes it could be the same person signing themselves up for a vine first over and over... To make it fair I thought you had to have a seed to start a vine? THoughts? Idead? anyone?
I'm new to BN and want to start recording Jimmy's concerts off RM. Would you mind explaining how the best way to record to a laptop to me as I am extremely computer challenged...LOL! but sooo true.

I'm still appreciating someone who sent me about 10 shows about 8 or so years ago. I have NO idea just who did that for me.
Berkeley 1979
Milwaukee 1978
Minneapolis 1980
Glen Helen 94
Honolulu 92
Telluride 1980
Live by the Bay 1985
Margaritaville KW 1989
JB & Kool Ray & the Polaroids KW 1990
(not even sure if all the dates are correct, but still...)
I'm interested in some shows but I mean it, this is the first time I've ever bothered to look here. It just never occurred to me for some reason.
One thing I do not understand. One song per CD? Is that what that is? How does that make sense? Ha ha. Is that how I read that?
Why pass the 'master' on? It's the same no matter how many CDs (and DATs) it's on. Is it the quality of the disc(s)? Doesn't that have the possibility of turning into NetFlix scratched movies that stop playing?
Oh yeah - just what is a vine? Is that the shows (threads) listed in this forum?
As you can see, I don't get it. I would like to at least understand before going further.
For many shows, forget all of what you've asked about and search here for the "jokelben" FTP server and SunLover's "cuebas" FTP server. Get a free FTP program (or Firefox browser plugin, if you lean that way). Then download to your heart's content without worrying about vines and discs and mailing and..... at all.
Somewhere there is a "Downloading via FTP" for Dummies that SunLover posted awhile back. Very helpful from what I remember.
