alright, might as well get a history lesson along with that english lesson! Now Southern Cross HAS to be one of my favorite songs, BUT what is the Southern Cross? All I knew beforehand is it's in Australia...we pilots aren't the smartest bunch in the crowd, thats for sure! too much sun got through my head this year i guess

Southern Cross is the Southern Hemisphere equivalent of the Big Dipper (in the Northern Hemisphere)

nope, they sure don't...its all about GPS these days...they think we dont need to know where we are cause the autopilot knows anyway! I just have to learn how to drink coffee, smile, and save the day when the sh** hits the fan...although, does anyone know any good reading material about celestial nav.??
