Good Morning:
It's NATIONAL TORTILLA CHIP DAY:
February 24th celebrates a crunchy chip that provides a multitude of ways to enjoy it! The day also shares the chip's history and many ways to enjoy this delicious snack food.
Everyone loves tortilla chips! We most commonly served them with salsa, Chile con queso, guacamole, cheese dips, or other dips. Tortilla chips are made from corn tortillas cut into wedges and then fried. The tortillas are made from corn, vegetable oil, salt, and water. Typically made with yellow corn, tortillas can also be made with white, blue, or red corn.
I love me some tortilla chips & salsa

What's everyone got going on today?

Good morning Linda and BN!
We used to love making them as nachos. Meat/cheese/toppings of choice. I probably won't do that very often. It takes a pound of ground beef when we made them, and I don't like being wasteful with food, unless I freeze the leftovers.
Me, nothing but doggie care. This break was good for me, but I'm actually ready to get back to the cleaning/packing.
Have a good Tuesday!

Hello Penny, Linda, and everyone else!
Town roads were terrible this morning, but the interstates where pretty good. Half the town doesn't have power, too. Right now would be a good time for some nachos!
Have a great Wednesday's Eve, everyone

This is my last day off for my surgery recovery and I'm supposed to be going back to work tomorrow. Not sure if I'll make it through the entire day or not but I'm going to give it a shot. I'm feeling really good but I do a lot of stand up, then sit down and repeat... that's what I'm concerned about as I have 2 incisions on my lower belly.
Happy Tuesday!

We had high hopes of the landscape guy coming this morning (he said around 9) to start working on the flower beds. It's now 11:30 and he just texted to say he was having trouble with his truck and would be here around 8 tomorrow morning. Not a huge deal but the curbscaping is scheduled for Thursday morning so we won't have a lot of time to move all of the current bed edging blocks out of the way and get them stacked up somewhere....hoping the weather is OK both days.

Are you sure you should be going back to work?

Oh the joys of home ownership?

Hi there! We drove 15 miles for great pizza and my first beer in a month.
Anne makes huge batches of salsa that is mor e;ike a bean salad. It lasts forever and we have some in the fridge now, but I get tired of it.

Good evening fellow BNers.
I didn't have any tortilla chips but I had a gift card for Chili's and had lunch there. I had the chipotle chicken salad bowl and it had tortilla strips in it. It was edible, but that's about the best thing I can say about it. And the service sucked.

That's a shame. Chili's used to be one of the best places to eat.

Yayx3!!! All the little things taken for granted become important when lost. i think often of our BNer, Liz, as she suffers in the hospital. Her resolve is so admirable, she makes me have a better outlook.

Evening all!
Things are all dug out here in white-out land and my cable is back- YAY!!
I absolutely HATED doing everything on my phone yesterday!
I can't remember the last time I made nachos... I should rectify that soon!
I do however, have a bag of tortilla chips in my snack cabinet and some guac in my fridge, so I see an appetizer in my very near future, like as soon as I finish typing this!
Penny - It does sound like your dog-sitting gig was the break you needed!
Larry - I have not been to a Chili's since I retited! A group of us used to go there after work once in a while because it was central to where we all lived. Now the few of the group that were the "location outliers" have moved to FL, those of us left have found a closer place for our catch-up gatherings!
Jerry - Surprisingly Franklin did well with the electricty this storm... sorry that Bellingham did not. I went out this afternoon and the roads were down to pavement! Rather shocking, considering the crap-ton of snow we had!

And also Alice Johnson (Maliburumgirl) who has Parkinsons, and in a Assisted living facility. She had some sort of 'seizure" and was unresponsive for several days. I think of both of them right now.

I HATE doing things on my phone, as well. I play some games, but the other stuff?

No.
Yep, besides a nice 'paycheck', it's been good to leave the mess and I feel ready to get back to it. Cameron will be off on Saturday and Sunday, so he can help me with trips to the dumpster.
