Thursday at the MSC (& almost everywhere else)

Post by Saltx3 »

Good Morning!

Here's another chapter in the lives of the residents of Cooper's Bluff :)

Had a lot of police activity across the street in the past 2 days. One boy (the one always doing bad stuff) was carrying a 3' snake around (it was alive). One of the neighbors called the non-emergency police line & they showed up followed by an ambulance. Apparently Benjamin called 911 (rather than go in the house) because the snake bit him. We're told that this is the 2nd time -- the 1st was shortly after they all moved in (all as in 8 kids).

A few hours later a car with 4 teen girls pulled up (they stop by quite often). 3 went inside (the 4th isn't allowed in the house). Another police car came - knocked on the door and took one of those girls away.....but she sat in the front seat.

At 10:30 before we went to bed there was another police car outside...no idea what that was about.

Yesterday 3 women from DCS (Dept of Child Services) stopped by after the next door neighbor called to report a little one (about 3) was out on the street for 15 mins before anyone noticed he was missing from the house. Mom was not home and Miss Patty the nanny (who can barely walk) wouldn't come out side to speak with them. They came back later in the day and talked to "mom".

Kevin sent a long scathing email to the property owner (who used to live here but has now moved on and is a millionaire real estate mogul, as well as a published author).

Yesterday we were told the oldest child (who we thought was a boy but is apparently a girl going through transitioning), was with a few others riding electric bikes through a newly poured foundation in the new homes (500,000$) being built on a small road across from us. One of those owners (who moved from our community) has an adult son who went out and confronted the kids. The girl/boy who we fondly call "big hair" told Edward he would stab him if he didn't leave them alone.......and the beat goes on.

Whoa, Linda! Makes my neighbor down the road with piles of trash, 2 gutted campers and a collapsing buildfing seem wonderful. He plowed us out twice last winter.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good morning.

The only excitement we've had recently was yesterday afternoon. There's a woman on the first floor who is mentally and physically handicapped, she lives alone since her mother died about 10 years ago. She locked herself out yesterday and one of the neighbors had to call a locksmith to get the door open. I only know this because I had a couple of errands to run yesterday and the locksmith was there when I got home.

Good morning Linda, Bill, and Larry! :)

Wow, Linda. What a bunch of crazy nonsense going on there. :o :-? Hope things quiet down soon.

Nothing exciting going on here today.. I *might* be able to look at my new apartment today. Officially the person who's name was on the lease (but moved out early) was no longer valid as of 3-31. I'll call up to the office today to see if anyone can open the place up for me. Then the packing continues. I got 90% of my glasses and coffee cups packed up yesterday. Today I'm going to work on some stuff in my bedroom, and some of the tools I had, and E kept.

At least it's sunny again, but chilly.

Hi Kids!

Wowza, Linda! You sure know how to pick interesting neighbors 🤣

No such craziness here, at least of which I am aware. Rainy cold day, so maybe all the craziness is inside? I have been debating going out to the farmers market, but opted for laundry instead. Going outside just seems like too much work right now….especially since the couch and blanket are extra cozy.

Maybe I will nap and dream about what bargains might be at the farmer’s market instead.
well, ummmmmmm, yah, I guess I better come up with something witty to put in this spot since everyone is reading it.......

I got to see my new apartment today. :) It hasn't been cleaned yet (my favorite maintenance guy is waiting until a few days before I move :) ), and it looks good.. Yes, smaller. Ick on the glasstop stovetop. But from the front door there is a LONG hallway where all of my pictures can be hung, those I don't put in the bedroom or livingroom. There's also another area before I get to the kitchen where I can put a hall tree for my coats. The kitchen IS smaller, but I've purged a lot of stuff. I've got shelves that I'm putting in the garage for things that won't fit. :)

Hello all! Penny, you seem to be enjoying your new apartment. I recently got a new mouse, so I'm very giddy when clicking on things. Sure beats the touchpad. I've also been looking at excavation reports on Giza's East Field. Very interesting stuff...especially the tomb of Kaherptah. Have a great Friday's Eve everyone :D :D :D

Great that you were able to get a sneak peek of your new digs! It will help you to know in advance where things (like those pictures) will be going, making the move-in smoother! :D
I am curious, why the "ick" about the glass cooktop? I've had them in several houses, and I love them! What do you have now?

Hoo Ray for you, Penny! Nice to know your move is going well.

I had boating success here with placing 3 batteries in my boat and everything worked ( including my parts). Two batteries go under my console which is like placing 80 pound lead blocks under a sink cabinet in a narrow bathroom.

I've been halfheartedly looking at airfare to Helsinki in case I decide to go to one of the NHL Global Series games in November. I found a flight that wasn't outrageously expensive, 2 stops on each leg of the trip. Going there wasn't too bad but the return trip was a nightmare. The first connection had 15 hours between flights, the second had 14 1/2 hours. No thanks.

That’s what we told our new friends a few weeks after we moved in……when we sorta thought it was funny. That’s no longer the case. The entire community is up in arms and wants them gone. We just happen to witness or hear each event. 🤪

I grew up with gas, which I loved! But only 2 houses of our houses had it, and both of those we were in for less than a year before Jim was transferred, it seemed a bad omen!

How funny! The main reason I love glass tops is how easy they are to clean! I've never noticed my pots or pans sliding.
