When the eagle flies on Friday @ the MSC
Where is everyone? Opening the MSC from the Upper LH Corner...
But when the eagle flies on Friday
And the boys break out the rum
Then the joint begins to jumpin'
And you'll hear those hot lines hum
They're about ready to hatch in Big Bear Valley...

It feels weird being the same age as old people….

Good morning Mr. SPH!
I was busy doing some packing, and getting ready to run to the store.
That's about all that's going on here.
Have a good Friday!!

Re: When the eagle flies on Friday @ the MSC
Hello !
We got up, had coffee, and started working (again) in the yard since its cloudy & not unbearably hot. I made a request on our Community FB page for clippings from a shrub we see all over our neighborhood but for some reason were never used in any of the pre-existing flower beds
. They are a pretty bush that survive in our weather & soil conditions. Someone offered me to just go to their home and clip as many as I wanted. I was busy planting some of those this morning along the side of the house that doesn't get too much sun and will hopefully work for these bushes.
Kevin was busy in the backyard spraying Scotts lawn feed/fertilizer and then moved to the sides of the house & front when I was finished. Although I have 2 more clippings to get in the ground they can wait until tomorrow.
We just got tix to the 2nd show added for Leanne Morgan (a comedian we love). When we got the notice for the first show she was sold out but thankfully a Thursday night show was added.
We also will be seeing Trace Adkins (indoors) for the first time this summer, and Dan Tyminski Band (also indoors, who we saw & met at a very small indoor venue in PA.
Then in Sept will we head to Darlington, SC for a Nascar Car race -- another first for us. We have good friend neighbors who have been to a few of them and asked us to go along. (LOL. Nascar Virgins)
Darlington is a historic city in South Carolina (not North Carolina), acting as the county seat of Darlington County and part of the Florence metropolitan area. Famous as the home of the "Too Tough to Tame" Darlington Raceway, the city is a major hub for NASCAR, hosting the annual Southern 500.

Good afternoon.
The Pelicans had their first game of the season last night, in Charleston. Either it rained in Charleston or the Carolina League has a mercy rule this year. The Pelicans won 15-0 and the game ended after the top of the 8th inning.

I was out this afternoon and I saw a billboard that Ole Smoky Distillery is opening at Broadway At The Beach in May. I don't really care about the distillery but I hope that means Yee Haw Brewing is opening in May too, they're sharing the same space.

Re: When the eagle flies on Friday @ the MSC
Hi Kids!!!
It is my last weekday of Spring Break. As much as I have loved being off work, I am ready to get back into a routine and get the countdown started for my summer break. Each year I am more giddy to be done; this year is no exception. Been seriously starting the prep to retire—maybe in about three years but we will see what education holds. If it stays insane and I can get rehired doing the job I have now I might retire then come back. Drawing both a pension and a salary is definitely enticing….
It was Opening Day in Michigan—pretty much a national holiday as I guess it is in most states where winter wears us down to bare survival. It was a glorious sunny 70 degree day in Tiger Town. Cloudy and teetered on 60 here, but I enjoyed grilling hot dogs and listening to the game. My Tigers were victorious over the Cardinals. I have to admit I smiled a lot listening to the game then apologized to Elrod that his poor birds lost to my Tigers. I am sure they will get revenge tomorrow—Tigers came home 2-4, so they haven’t proven they are World Series bound yet.
A friend of mine got me on a thrifting kick. It is almost embarrassing how many resale shops I hit up over break. Got a ton of “high end” designer clothes for cheap and a fabulous flamingo caftan for like 2 bucks! Now to figure out if any of the clothes match what I currently have and if I will ever wear any of them. Eh, I have spent bigger money doing dumber things, so it’s all good.

Good evening all!
Penny - the apartment looks beautiful!
In Other News, I went to bed way too late...midnight. I decided to stay up to see the interview with the Artemis II astronauts, 'live' from space. Very cool, but I had to take the mum to a doctors appointment at 8am...got about five hours of sleep since I awoke to three cats yowling and fighting outside my window. Afterward, mum, dad, and I visited Hammond Castle, and visited a locally famous restaurant (in Gloucester (Causeway is the names)). I had fish and chips, which were great

Thanks, Jerry! I mostly look forward to the move, but I'll be sad to leave the apartment I've been in for 15+ years.

So I just found a large tin container that has lighthouses on the outside. I thought it was something of mine - turned out it was over 100 cards (and a few letters) that I sent to E before he moved from Oklahoma to Colorado. Sigh.

I MIGHT read some of them in the next few days....

We have a distillery and a winery in town that both have restaurants. We used to have a brewery, too... but it closed "temporarily" 2 years ago to move to another location.

Wow, it is always crazy to me how long we have all known each other. I remember when you guys moved in there. Never in a million years would I have thought it was 15 years ago. I remember how excited you were to have a patio and the beautiful views. I still remember E brewing beer maybe on the patio? For some reason I thought the big ole keg thing was out in the patio. He and Kevin Says would swap beer making stories.SMLCHNG wrote: April 3, 2026 7:45 pmThanks, Jerry! Linda - That's a lot of shows! ENJOY!
Penny - I know I said this on FB, but that is a nice apartment. While it must be sad to leave the memories at the old place, the new one will be easier to maintain and has a garage too! SCORE!
MrSPH - you got to pick the title yourself for a change, complete with video!
Jerry - Kudos to you for driving your Mom so early after staying up so late and not sleeping well because of those cats! And if Gloucester was "local", I assume her appointment was not... so even bigger props are due!
