Good morning Penny! And also the rest of y'all BNers.
Mrs frognot has a followup with her retina specialist today. Seems that all our medical appointments have fallen in May which is good because heading to Navarre Beach in early June. Y'all got any recommendations for a roadtrip playlist?
Hope y'all all have a wonderful week!
Hank Hill : Just in case I'm incapacitated for some reason, do you know how to start a man's heart with a downed power line?
Bobby: No.
Hank : Well, there's really no wrong way to do it.
The road trip continues. We've moved on to Sicily and are staying at a B&B in the town of Taormina. I guess the town is famous as the location of "The White Lotus", but having never seen the show, whatever....
The San Domenico Palace Hotel, location for White Lotus, with Mt. Etna smouldering in the distance:
I’m getting my steps in, horizontally and vertically….
I was just minding my own business and the the next thing I know I'm the same age as old people….

Good afternoon. I had a dentist appointment at 9:30 this morning. There was rain in the forecast so when I left the dentist I headed for the park. Took a nice walk, stepping around all the goose poop on the ground. On the way home the southern sky looked a little threatening and it started to rain when I was about a mile away from home. By time I pulled into the parking lot and got out of my car the rain had stopped. It's a little overcast, maybe we'll get some more rain.
A favorite off of one of my favorite albums!
What do the ladies say, what do the ladies say?
I'll tell ya what they say.... Bring that young man over here
We're going to buy that boy a beer
And that ain't all we want to do
And bring your crazy uncle too
I was just minding my own business and the the next thing I know I'm the same age as old people….

We're in the upper 70's, and low 80's for the next week... no rain. I had a call from my dentist and they had to change my Wednesday appointment to next week.
Went to the cancer center this morning, where they do my blood draws. Same place that was going to treat E.. the doctor and his PA met with me, and *I* had good news.. ferritin levels are STILL good, so no phlebotomy today, and can schedule another check up in August!

I went to the beach with a girlfriend (and her mom who is visiting from Georgia). It was beautiful for a little over an hour. Then the dark clouds & large rain drops started. We left and stopped at a thrift store for about 30 mins. About 2 miles from home it started a torrential downpour. When I dropped them off at their house they had to sit in the car for a few minutes until the HAIL stopped. Now there's a downpour & sunshine -- will be looking for a rainbow soon .

MrsSPH does most of the itinerary (“I wanna go/we gotta see”) and I do most of the arranging. Typical hunter/gatherer relationship, I guess…. She reads lots of books and articles on the different places and then makes her “to do” list.

Nice photos, Mel! Those stairs look daunting.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Would you like me to throw in a little snow, too??
I had another fall last Thursday and most of my bumps and bruises are getting better day by day but not so with my wrist. I have an appointment with my PCP tomorrow and I'll see if he thinks I need an x-ray. Unfortunately it's my left wrist and I'm left handed. I had a lot of pain trying to write at work today.
I'm also going to see what he thinks about why I'm getting dizzy and shaky which led to my fall.
Have a great evening.
The vacation pictures are stunning!
SMLCHNG wrote: May 11, 2026 9:00 pm I hope the doc can find an answer for you, Tammy. Is it the dizzy part that's making you fall, or balance?
I think it's a balance issue. I was bending over, getting ready for bed and I lost my balance and knew I was going over , but couldn't stop it. The next morning I still felt kinda light headed and my legs were shaky
This morning I felt the same way.

sure -- pack it up and ship it -- we'll keep it in the freezer so we can visit it every once in a while

Nice!! Perfect travel harmony. The ladies in my life have been, "Just tell when & where to be". I recall when my late wife & I did a big 16 day
road trip out West through New Mexico, Grand Canyon, Utah & Colorado. She connected with her sister via phone at one point & her sis asked, "where are you now"?
She responded, "What is today's date"? Then she referenced my itinerary & said, Oh we must HERE.
