Good morning BN. What is the worst pick up line you heard or used? I was 15, crusing in another town where we found a car with girls, I yelled,"Please give me a ride! These guys are going to dump me off!"

It didn't work.

   @ Bill!!! I'm shocked it didn't work!!

Me? I have no memories of any bad lines... I'm sure I heard a few over the years..

Gonna run a few errands today. The apartment office has a small refund check for me from the old place. And I need to get my new glasses looked at. The "Transitions" coverage has a spot near the temple that wasn't applied correctly.

That all I got today. Nice day, tho. :)

Hello Penny and Bill!

I'm still excited about that plot of land from last night! I love the desert. Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada... you name it. I've got a contact from Gerlach NV, 9 hour drive from Kingman Az. Says their family will let me crash for a while when I start to set the property up. Maybe help with the pizza business during Burning Man.

In Other News... I've got Monday off for Memorial Day, so that's got me happy too. Some more writing to do! Have a great Saturday, everyone :D :D :D

We're heading to our youngest daughter's house in a little while for the family Memorial Day gathering. Just a simple cook out. I made the potato salad, sauteed onions for the brats and burgers and for dessert I made a Lemon Blueberry Poke Cake 😋

Bryan had to use or lose some PTO, so we're officially off for the next week. We have some plans to do a whole lot of nothing until Thursday, then we're heading to Delaware to visit his sister for a couple of days. It's going to be a turn and burn situation but...I'll survive 🙏

Bill, in answer to your observation about the auction of the boats...I really don't think we'll get any interest. Unfortunately my dad was more interested in having things than letting them go. The boats are completely trashed from being out in the elements and housing all kinds of wildlife and rodents. We're very pleased with the end of the house auction and everything else is not really important... thanks for your advice regarding disappointment. When I saw the pics of the boats my disappointment was the worst since I actually walked into the hoard in the house on the day he died.

My worst pick up line I can not put into print.

Two pick up lines that worked:

"Are you married, single, doing anything this weekend?"

"My divorce was finalized last week."

:pirate:

"Yeah, and I got some acreage in Arizona I'd be willin' to sell ya".....

Late at night you will find them
In the cheap hotels and bars
They'll be hustling the senoritas
While they dance beneath the stars

This was back when I was in my 30s, and I don't remember what my initial line was, but the woman in question said she was married. I said "are you a fanatic about it?" It didn't work.

So Sarah came over to visit for a couple of hours. Nice time. Love talking with her. :D

Then I ran and picked up my whopping $271 check from the old apartment. Better than nothing or owing...

Raining and 50 degrees F at dinnertime so of course I cooked steaks outside on the grill and corn on the cob.
That way the day wasn't a total bummer.

Big John and I share the same miserable weather. I spent 2 hours making a display board of a race car for the sick brother of a woman I've known for 50 years. She will have friends and family write messages on it and it will hang in his hospital room. I doubt he will leave it.

Winter is starting to show its face around here.

Vintage is over and the buzz is dying down. The vines are all turning magnificent reds, yellows and oranges.

The cropping farms are hives of activity ploughing, seeding and doing the things that they do (of which, I have no idea about). The noise of grape picking and wine making has given way to the sounds of machines in the crop fields.

What answers for rain in these parts has started. Cool to cold, grey drizzly days.

I do miss the clear blue winter skies of the east coast and the fact that it rains and then clears up rather than the endless not quite rain that lasts for days around here.

Hiya, Rabz! I failed with grapes, poor soil, poor sun, poor judgement all lead to grape flavored balls of battery acid. I had to put the vines out of my misery for a deck extension. Now, I have annual effort washing and staining a deck we don't use.
