Another day of smoke here, with temps in the mid 90's.

I did some laundry and vacuumed yesterday, so nothing on my agenda today.

It's going to be another scorcher here in the south. No rain in sight.

I'm off to chair yoga - the only thing on the Ringer schedule for today. Had a nice July "4th" picnic at church last evening. The only people outside playing lawn games were all under age 16. The rest of us were inside.

The Days in the Lives of the Rats from Coopers' Bluff......Benjamin - the 10 yr old with "issues" was caught throwing rocks into traffic & over a very busy overpass wall about 1/2 mile from our community. mom posted a FB video (via Face Time with one of the older kids) of the officer holding him down after cuffing him. She apparently forgot to catch the part or mention where he broke out the screen between the back & front seat of the cruiser. Her first post was "help me find a good attorney to sue the Police Dept because my son has autism and he should not have been taken from the cruiser". It's a POOP SHOW.

YIKE, LINDA! That's terrible!

Worst 4th of July weekend weather ever. 100 degree temps on the 3rd and 4th. Severe thunderstorms and possible tornado
on 4th and 5th. Many downed trees and power lines and flooding. Over 100,000 without power on 4th, 5th, and today.
Other than that not too bad.

It isn't even 11:00 yet and the heat index is already over 100.

That's a wee bit toasty, Larry.

Now that the 4th is behind us, summer can start in Seattle. 'Sposed to see 80° today for the USA vs. Belgium World Cup match and then 70°s and some showers for the rest of the week. Nearly perfect weather!

The heat index made it to 103 so the grumpy old man is relaxing with a cold beverage at The Grumpy Monk.

There are 3 Grumpy Monks, the same people also own a place called The Sneaky Beagle and they just opened a brewery called South Coast Beer Project. There's a place in Murrells Inlet called The Grumpy Mustache. They don't own that. How is a mustache grumpy?

One of the TVs above the bar is showing a World Cup soccer game, Portugal vs. Spain. I'm not a soccer fan, I don't know which countries have good teams, but I'd like to see Portugal win. It's the fatherland.

Oh yeah, we're good. Mom went outside to chase down her outdoor furniture and cushions until

I always considered nazi Germany the Fatherland.
