Hello All !

Nothing but blood work this morning for an upcoming yearly physical and then a class at the library from 2-3.

We just watched the docu-miniseries Painkiller. Not enough words to describe the horror that was created .

Have a dentist appointment this morning to fix a chipped filling that's 45 years old. It's the old silver kind, so it'll be changed to the tooth colored kind now.

It was a year ago today that E and I met up with TikiBar, and a surprise guest of CaptainP at a restaurant in Lake Geneva, WI. It was a wonderful visit!!

Just back from blood draw for annual medicare physical. I have a great vein on my right arm so the tech was very excited. I didn't even get a lollipop.

Good morning. Today is National Dive Bar Day. I'm sure there are dive bars in Myrtle Beach but I don't know where any of them are. There's one in North Charleston, The Tattooed Moose (they have a stuffed moose head on the wall), but I don't want to drive 90 miles each way just to go to a dive bar on Dive Bar Day.

Good song!! I was listening to RM on my drive back from the dentist. Zac Brown and Mac were the "DJ's" together. And I heard "Pirates and Parrots", and I love that song.

Turned out I had a chipped TOOTH, not a chipped filling. They made a new piece and glued it into the broken spot. Not too much discomfort, other than the utensils they use were pressing down on my lips too much. They're good people there.

I know exactly where I was the last time the volcano blew (Mount St Helens, May 18, 1980).
I was hiking in the Cascade Mountains, but I was about 150 miles north of the excitement.

I went out earlier this afternoon. It was a little overcast but no rain. When I was driving home about 1/2 hour ago it wasn't overcast anymore. Thunder, lightning, pouring rain. Some of the traffic lights on Hwy 17 were out. It was an interesting ride home.

I have always been intrigued by the idea of a "dive bar". After what feels like a couple of lifetimes working as a diving instructor, divemaster, commercial diver I still haven't worked out how to down a shot underwater without diluting it with saltwater!

As Jerry said... not the nicest day here, for sure...
But any day in July that is not swelteringly hot is OK in my book!

Mr. SPH... THANK YOU, for the Royal Albert Hall video (the vintage one was cool too) as it brought back a great evening we spent with a few fellow PH neighbor families who all came over to watch the TV broadcast of the Montserrat Benefit. I VCR'd it at the time so I'd always have it... but YouTube is so much easier and clearer too!

Larry - yeah... definitely not worth the drive to the dive!

Thanks, "cousin"! It was a fun time, glad we were able to meet up.
And I'm glad the dentist was able to fix my tooth, too! This office is able to make crowns, parts of teeth, etc.

So, I'm dog sitting at my sisters again this weekend, starting Monday for 3 days, but I'm going over on Sunday to 1) cook dinner for them 2) and the dogs are much more relaxed when I'm there when they are still there.

I'm making them a whipped cream/honey-lime fruit salad. Then some honey/corn muffins. And Buffalo/chicken meatballs (which E loved) and is a Pioneer Woman recipe. The 2nd time I've cooked since November. ( I don't do gorgonzola or celery)

That sounds like a good plan! But you know from your sister telling you what your "nieces" did the last time looking for you after you left that they do love their "Aunt Penny"

Yep, pine trees aren't shedding as much, so I'll skip picking them up. And I know what my sister and BIL like, so this should be a good meal. I'm one of the few people that the girls like A LOT, so I'm happy to watch them again (and they pay me)!
