Good morning all!
Another hot day with smoky winds here.
Not much happening, otherwise.
Have a good Wednesday!

Good Morning Penny!!
It's hotx3 here (again)....the heat index over 100 is expected to last a few more days. Next week a cold front will move in and then the heat index drops to the mid-90's.
At least we got a HUGE downpour late yesterday afternoon which raised our pond level a little bit. It will also make the pool cooler which is a good thing. The past 2 days it hasn't been very refreshing. I know, I know.....it's a terrible life .
We started bing-watching Parenthood last night. We really like it when it was a weekly series..... It has a great cast with some almost real family dynamics/issues.
We have scheduled our 1st trip to Buc-ee's with our neighbors for Saturday. It's a 90 minute drive but since we have nothing else to do and Sue & Dave are good company.....why not.
Enjoy your day -- keep warm or cool -- and be safe out there !

Glad to hear of the rain yesterday! And enjoy your road trip. I've been to a couple of them, and I think they're fun. Get some Beaver Nuggets. Closest one to me is also 90 minute drive.
Good morning Debbie!

Good morning.
I'm off to a slow start today, I haven't even gone grocery shopping yet. The bakery department has muffins on sale, I have to get some lemon poppyseed and maybe red velvet.

So, I decided to clean out my jewelry box. It's got some things I don't wear anymore. Mostly earrings. And I had to remove everything and spray air to loosen dust, then vacuum it. Looks a lot better.

Just another day in the Upper LH Corner..... 70s and a chance of showers.
If you’re gonna fly high without fear
You’re gonna have to learn to love the atmosphere
And you gotta learn to use those wings
You can’t see
Another good Will Kimbrough song...

Good early afternoon gang! Mid day break here at Stalag 1388 (my business address number).
Lynn gets 2nd cataract done before heading back on dog assignment until Sunday. Then she will be home for ONE WHOLE WEEK. First 7 day stretch at home since May 29th. Could it be me or does she really love dog sitting that much
Not that I was an avid watcher of Beavis & Butthead but I have been exposed to the show before.....

Oh happy day all !!

Thank you, Mr. SPH. I love the song.
Yes, I said Beaver, Ken. All the best to Lynn for her surgery, and enjoy your week together!

Hi there! It was perfection on the river until the sun came out and the temperature shot up.

I spent a few hours with my grand daughter Jaidyn as we waited for the arrival of Big Boy 4014, the worlds largest
steam locomotive. We stood on an overpass with a few hundred other people as it passed beneath us after it
crossed the Rockville bridge, which happens to be worlds longest stone arch construction bridge.
The engine was built in 1940 and the bridge is over 100 years old so it was a historic event and pretty cool to see,
This occurred only about a mile from where we live.
In this video if you skip to about 9:00 you get to see a great shot of the train on the bridge. The engine weighs over 600
tons and is 133 feet long.

Good afternoon everyone!
John - I was going to try to see the Big Boy while it was in Scranton. Unfortunately it didn't work out with my work schedule. Glad you guys got to see it...quite a sight Lovely video, too.
I am wondering whether I have tetanus at the moment. I've got some eczema on my hands and I picked up one of those rusty stainless steel dish scrubbers. After realizing, I quickly switched hands, but I hope I'll be alright. Washed them afterwards as well. Now I'm waiting...

Hey John, great video!! I'm going to see Big Boy on the 19th. I'm sad E and I never got to see it together, but we were always out of town when I went by.
Jerry - I hope you're okay. Do you have an allergy to rusty things?

Penny, thank you I do not have that allergy. I am feeling less worried by the minute since the scrubber has been inside for its entire "life." Usually the tetanus bacteria comes mainly from soil... I should've known that! And enjoy seeing the locomotive!
I'm also working on a "Dream 27" setlist for Jimmy's music. Just a little personal project

We were granted permission to take a partial distribution of funds from the estate and we paid off the mortgage on our land. Now we just need to get the construction loan and then we can break ground for our final house. It's right around the corner from the house we built and raised our girls. Our youngest daughter and son in law bought it when we felt the need to downsize after my valve replacement.
We can't wait to get back out in the country!

Penny - Awww... today's song always makes me think about Garry because it was featured on the shirt I bought when he passed, the one that donated to the animal shelter...
Mr SPH - so a big thank you for the video!
Jerry - Yes you are 100% correct about where C. tetani normally thrives... BUT tetanus is something you do NOT want to take a chance with. Are you up-to-date on your vaccines? The mother of a friend of ours got infected somewhere (they have no idea where) and by the time she went to a doctor it was too late... and let's just say, it was NOT a nice way to go...
Linda - somehow I've made it all the way to my 70s never having seen a Buc-ees!
Larry - I hope you got your muffins!! Lemon poppyseed is one of my favorites too, along with orange cranberry. I like homemade blueberry too, with fresh-picked REAL blueberries!

Awww, I like that - and Garry would have liked it, as well.
