Good morning BN. I heard Wings On My Feet and how important imagination is. When quite young, I daydreamed about flying above the trees, even though I was afraid of heights.

Good morning Bill and BN! :)

Had a call last night from my former neighbor that one of two liquor stores were robbed last night. Just not sure which one. Cameron also said that the SWAT team was in our apartment complex overnight, but don't know the reason. Gonna look up the FB page of our county sheriff to see if they have anything posted. That's a new one for us.

Nothing else happening here. That's quite enough. ;)

Gonna be close to 100 today, done with these temps..

Have a good Friday!! :D

Good morning Bill, Penny and Debbie. The heat index is already over 100.

Maybe I'll take a short ride and vote today, it's the last day of early voting for the Senate race. Lindsay Graham won the original primary but after he died they had to have another primary. Nobody got 50% of the vote so there's a runoff between the top two vote getters. I'm a registered independent so I can vote in either party's primary. Might as well do my civic duty.

We have a couple of eagle pairs that I sometimes see swooping and soaring near our house and I think how lucky they are and wish that I could join them. I then think of how chaotic it would be if man could fly; some people can't even navigate a crowded sidewalk.... I can't imagine how it would be if everyone could fly.

The original:

I’ve been up around the stratosphere
At thirty-one thousand feet
I’m gonna fly on out of here
On wings that you can’t see
If you’re gonna fly high without fear
You’re gonna have to learn to love the atmosphere
And you gotta learn to use those wings
You can’t see.

Hello !

I spent 3-1/2 hours earlier today watching the 3 yr old granddaughter (Remi) of my friend Lisa.
I had a ball with Remi - we colored, played "airplane" (which was me & all of her dolls and stuffed toys sitting on the sectional while she played the pilot). We built things with Duplos and then spent time in her bedroom where she jumped on her enclosed trampoline while I threw squishy balls at her. We watched "Clifford the Big Red Dog" while we ate lunch together.

It's too hot to do anything outside so I may head to the library to shelve some books which I haven't done in a very long time!!

I think that shelving books would be highly satisfying to the OCD beast that makes its home deep in my soul.

After I went to vote, I stopped at Kohl's on the way home. When I got to the cashier she asked me how my day was going. I told her I was disappointed because I never see Kohl's mom when I'm in the store.

Blerk.

Another grey and drizzly day.

I have so much work to do in the gardens but it's too boggy and just too miserable to get motivated. I have also stirred up my wrist arthritis so that makes me even less willing.

I knew about the not-50% earlier primary which forced the runoff... but I did not know that one was the second, I guess I missed the first one (that Lindsay won). So the Republicans will have 3 different ones? :o
Just curious... as a registered Independent, if you had voted in the original Democratic Primary, could you now vote in the subsequent Republican ones?
In MA, we Independents (known as "unenrolled" here) can also choose which ballot to vote, but we've never had any 2nd or 3rd ones to worry about.

The original primary, that Lindsay won, was in June. So yes, this is the third primary.

The way the primary voting is in South Carolina, you can only vote for one party. Anyone who voted in the Democratic primary isn't eligible to vote in the Republican runoff. If they voted in one or both of the other Republican primaries, or didn't vote at all, they can vote in the runoff.
