Record concets on my computer?

Can anyone help me?

I would like to record a concert off of radio margaritaville, but for the life of me... I can't figure out how. I am sure there is some smart out there who knows how to do this. I will be using Windows Media Player.

Please help!

I really should start charging for this information. Here's how I do it for free! It can be a somewhat time consuming process though! (depending on your computer's speed)

First download goldwave at www.goldwave.com

Next open goldwave. And select new. Set it for like just a second long. Then go to the "device controls" under tools. Click on the box BELOW the red record button on the device controls box. A properities box should come up. click on Volume and select "What you hear" and set it at about 75%. On the same box click record at the top. On the lower left side there should be an option "Unbound" Make sure that this box is checked. (This will make sure you record until you hit stop and that the track will be more than a second long.) Goldwave is now set.

Open the radio stream through windows media player or real player (I suggest real player or MP3 since windows media player and goldwave sometimes don't work to well together and windows media player often crashes during the broadcasts. Once the concert is playing go back and hit the record button on the device controls on goldwave.

Afterwards you can save the entire piece as one MP3 or WAV file or divide it up in to individual tracks by highlighting each track with the left and right mouse buttons and clicking "copy to" Select a new file name such as 01 intro jimmy buffett live

Most people spend about the 14$ for total recorder or other programs. It's been my experience that goldwave is free and works just as well. The program can seem overwheleming at first but just play with it for a couple of hours and you will be looking for more ways to challenge yourself and obtain some of those old buffett shows.

Here's a free, simple recording program. Can anyone tell me what I give up from total Recorder by using http://www.stepvoice.com/ instead? It seems to do a really good job, and the price is right.

Well, from what I saw, you can't set stepvoice to record if you're not there (unless I'm wrong, a definite possibility), and that is one of the features I use the most in Total Recorder....
