LOOKING TO BUY LIVE CDs

I am a Buffett fan who would like to start aquiring live shows. I currently do not have the technology on my computer to download, burn discs, etc from other fans. That being said I am looking for someone who does this sort of thing and would like to make a little extra money making CDs for me. If interested, let me know and we can work something out
selling CD's for profit - not allowed

We are not allowed to make money on the concerts. Jimmy is only allowing this because we aren't selling them to make money. I only ask for expenses and postage, so it is a losing proposition when you consider my time. I am only trying to share concerts with fellow Parrotheads because I love having a copy of a concert I went to.
I am going to upload the concerts I have and you can easily download them with a minimum of effort. Since they will already be edited, you can then just burn them to CD's. You probably have software already on your computer that will do this.
If you have a Pentium III or better with a decent amount of RAM, you CAN record them yourself. I am using a Pentium 4 with 512 MB of RAM and broadband, but I have recorded concerts with no problem on my wife's computer (Pentium III with 512 MB of RAM).
If your computer is too old to do any of this, consider buying a new one. You can get them VERY cheap at places like Best Buy at 0% and a multi-month payout. I bought my Sony VAIO Pentium 4 at Best Buy for $600 (floor model with no monitor). It has a DVD/CD burner and a second CD drive.
If you want to learn how to do it, I am sure myself and others could put together instructions. I am using Replay Radio to record in MP3. Others are using Total Recorder to record in better formats.
Replay Radio allows you to simply enter the station, date, times to start and end, and recording quality. Then, as long as your computer is on and the program is open, you can easily get a concert. However, you don't even need to do that. Several people are already offering downloads that eliminate the need for this step.
Then, I use an editor to edit out things I don't want. Again, if you are willing to learn how to download, this step is also unnecessary.
I then use Adaptec's Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.0 (current version is 7.0) to burn the CD's. I know there are many different programs/ways to burn them. All you would need to do is assemble the files for that concert into a file and copy them to CD.
If you can run a computer, you can do this. Believe me, it's not that hard.
Hope this answers your questions. I would be willing to entertain letting people pay more for concerts, but only if the excess over expenses is donated to one or more of Jimmy's favorite charities and only if he personally approves the idea. The idea of this forum, though, is to trade concerts. If you don't have anything to trade, then people are willing to sell them to you, but only at cost. Steve Huntington (sp?), one of the RM DJ's, made a very specific point one day while I was listening about them not wanting to find anyone selling these recordings on E-Bay.

I agree with the above post. It's really shitty to have Bubba make these shows available to us via RM and the internet. I would be willing to burn a few shows MP3 format for ya. If you can make a CD you can do this. I would be willing to give instructions too. All I ask for is blanks and postage. PM me if you are interested.
Thanks!

I didn't finish my thought above. I meant it would be shitty for the shows to be availble to us and then try to make money off of them.
Sorry for the confusion... It''s been a long day.

Just put your name on the concert vines/trees. It's a great way for everyone to share the shows.

How do the concert vines work?

It's very simple. First someone has to offer up a cd to the group. Then a list starts. Copy and paste the list on a new post and add your name and email address at the end. You then contact the person in front of you on the list and give them your name and address so they can mail you the master copy of the show. Once you receive the master copy, make a copy for yourself and mail it to the next person on the list. It costs less than $2 to ship a cd unless you need new packaging. It's still a small price to pay to get a great show from a fellow parrothead
I've started a few and they work really well. Check out the Exit/In show, it's one of the more poular ones.

The important thing to do is just get your name on the lists and when you receive the cd, get out as quickly as possible.
This is my 100th post!
