Have you ever FTP'd files before? If not, here is an easy tutorial with a link to the software you can download to make it all very simple.

(the *** above should be a 'uck' but Buffettnews blocks the word s***)

this worked for me although with a dialup connection it took forever to download but I've finaly got it. Let me know if you would like a copy.

Where do you go to get to your server? I wish I was more tech savey and just knew what to do.... This list is fantastic!!!

If you can get me there, I will try to upload for you as well.

Thanks for info!!!!

Phins up,
Nate

There are no dumb questions.

I recommend you download a piece of software called "FileZilla" from http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... p_id=21558

This software lets you see your pc hard drive on the left, while the remote FTP site is on the right. Navigate the left to where you want the files to go. Select Queue at the top, uncheck "use multiple connections". Captain Morgain allows only 1 per customer at a time. I recommend you select "View" from the top menu and select "remote tree view" too.

Now you're ready to browse his files.

To connect to his FTP site, select FILE / Site MAnager. Right click in the white space, pick "add connection". Call it whatever makes sense, but enter the IP given on Buffettnews for "host" - 69.47.213.167 [see IP address in his thread, it keeps changing]. Leave port & server type alone, select Logon "Normal", enter "Anonymous" for the logon & for the password, click Connect, then click "save and exit" so you can connect again. (To upload, set up a second connection with the upload IP, logon, password from above.)

Now the right side shows the files & folders to get songs from. You can browse a bunch, right click any you want and select "add to queue" and a list is built in the bottom pane. When you've added a few songs to the queue, try right-clicking the queue pane and pick "process queue". the fies will start transferrring to the location in the left pane (local - your PC), but while they do you can't browse anymore. Best to test the download before you browse a gazillion files, so when those few are done, have at it - build a huge queue, and clog up the internet for the rest of us.

BTW, his servers almost always full, so don't be surprised if you get "421, too many users, try again later".

Hope that helps.
