I have a basic idea but can someone clue me in to how vines work. For example if I want a copy of the Monhegan show, how would it work??? Thanks everyone

Check back here after the show.
When you see that the vine has started, add your name and email
address to the list. When it gets close to you, get in touch with the person above you and make sure that they have your mailing address. Contact the person below you and request their mailing address. When you receive the show make a COPY and send the MASTER to the next person.
Update the list to let the others know that you have received the show and sent it on.
You should make your copy and send the master out within 3 days of receiving it.

Or you could record the show yourself and skip all of the above

How will I know if its close to me???

Hopefully, everyone before you keeps the list updated, and you just keep checking back.

Or, one fine day you check you in box and there sits an e-mail that says you are next on the list for the vine, please send me your address.
