I'm looking for a few items myself.

#1, over the summer I heard a concert replay on RM that included one song with a Dale Earnhardt reference in it. I don't know the song name, but I think the concert was from one of the Carolinas and I think the song came in an encore.

#2, I recently heard a version of "Far Side of the World" that was recorded live and he says something like "Around the world in seven and a half minutes"

I'd love to have those MP3s, or better yet those entire shows, if anybody has them.

#3, if somebody has something they would like me to post to this server for a few days for faster download, please let me know. The site schedule for here is a few weeks away so we can use the bandwidth as we please.

Hey Thanks for the shows.

Head on over to the Set List Database. It's great for finding out about shows, songs and other related stuff.

He dedicated Take Another Road to Dale at Charlotte on 2-20-2001. If memorey serves correct he also mentioned him during Oysters and Pearls on the encore. I am almost positive I have both those on MP3 if not the entire show, but can not currently find it. I will let you know if I do.

I was at Daytona sitting comming right out of turn 4 and saw the whole wreck. I still can not believe he died in that particular wreck. We knew it was bad when they put a tarp on the car. My friend and I turned to each other and said "he's gone" at the same time. At that point most of the crowd had left. I would have to guess that most did not know an ambulance had even shown up as they were in the process of leaving.

Not to hijack my own post -- But I too remember exactly where I was at the time.

I'm a photographer working with glamour girl style models. I was at a resort on ST Pete Beach , Florida sitting in a hotel suite watching the race with a model's father -- Suite 135 at The Alden Beach Resort -- and I too said almost those exact words, as I feel many worldwide may have.

I think there are references to Dale in "The Tiki Bar is Open" on the Cinncinnati Tiki Time Tour disc... I'd have to listen to cofirm, but I think it's there...

Nope... Right song, wrong concert... But now I have the answer.

I went back and listened to my recording of the 4-20-2002 concert. That's the show you were asking about... in "The Tiki Bar is Open", he changes the third verse to...

"Well, his name was Mr. Dale Earnhardt, and he drove the black number 3.

Oh, the king is gone, but he won't be forgotten, nor his likes will we ever see."
