Has anyone / everyone already discovered the Ti Punch? This traditional cocktail has always been big in the islands and in the sailing community....great for day or evening drinking.

Ti Punch
In a rocks glass add:
Shot and a half of rhum agricole (or premium white rum)
A squeeze of lime, drop the wedge in the glass
Few dashed of cane juice
Swizzle until evenly mixed
Add a few ice cubes
Turn up the tunes....enjoy

Angostura, which has a better distribution up north there than the rhum distillers of Martinique and so on, has just come out with a rhum naturel (as we call it to distinguish it from the traditional molasses based rums, such as Appleton) called Ten Cane and it is really good. You might be able to find it. If you use white rum, it is technically rum punch. If you use rhum naturel, then it is really ti punch. Ten Cane is because ten canes is as many as a worker can comfortably pick up when hand harvesting the cane. We enjoyed the ti punch on St. Martin.

10 Cane is now widely available and is one of the many "designer" rums to hit the market over the last few years. They spend huge amounts of money on marketing and many folks in the industry aren't too impressed. I, however, think it's a fine white rum.
