Tools of the Trade

Hey Guys, I thought this might be as interesting subject. What are some of the tools and programs you use to edit files, and record concerts? I have a few programs which I think are great, but I sure don't know everything that is out there. I thought we could share what we use and maybe give each other a better way. Here's some of the things I use.

Media Player--Media Monkey--I think the best music program available. Makes editing and converting large amounts of files very very simple.

sendspace.com--Free to join. Allows you to upload a concert after you put it into a zip file to allow you to email to friends.

EZ Soft Magic mp3 splitter and joiner--Very simple to use. Allows very simple splitting and joining of mp3 files.

Acoustica mp3 to Wave converter--Allows conversion with just a simple right click. Very easy to use.

Good thread topic, ChzHeadParrothead.

Still organizing with a mashup of iTunes, Windows Explorer, and Excel. :o

Replay AV and/or Replay Media Catcher - depending on what kind of audio/video is being captured

Replay Converter - for file format conversions

Free Audio Editor - haven't found a splitter/joiner good enough to commit $$$s to yet.

Thanks for starting this topic. I haven't recorded anything before and this is just the information that I was looking for. One question, do you prefer to record the Radio Margaritaville feed from the internet or connect to a satellite TV receiver for the feed? Does one give a better quality or reliability?

OPH...Try the EZ Soft Magic splitter and joiner. I tried many ones until I found this one. Liked it so much I bought it. Only $20. I think it's the easiest to use.
