Happy Thanksgiving to all at BuffettNews as a special treat a special show has been uploaded to the jokelben server.
It's the April 24, 2009 Coral Reefer Show from the Orlando Margaritaville Cafe. This special show featured the following members of the Coral Reefer Band:
Nadirah, Ralph, Robert and Mac and it was the first time these four had ever preformed as a group without Jimmy.
Here is the setlist enjoy the show:
01 Creola
02 La Vie Dansante
03 Making Music For Money
04 Son Of A Son Of A Sailor featuring Mac on vocals and Nadirah did
her take-off on SOASOAS with the snappy version
05 Frenchman for the Night (one of my most favorite Buffett songs and
I guess I never noticed Roger Guth wrote this one)
06 Why You Wanna Hurt my heart by Art Neville (with wardrobe
malfunction)
07 It's Five O'Clock Somewhere (with story about the recording with
Mac impersonating both Alan and Jimmy and the crowd singing along)
08 Volcano
09 Guitar Gently Weeps featuring Robert on pans and Mac on guitar (a
highlight for the night if I get to choose)
Break
Girl named Elizabeth named Jimmy Buffett's at the Beachcomber to win
a t-shirt; Mac told the story about writing Down The Road in 1987 and
Nadirah had to tell the name of his new single, You First, which
nobody knew; and Elizabeth also named the group Nadirah was with
before she joined the Coral Reefers...I couldn't hear, but I'm
guessing Arrested Development...a girl named Nancy won the t-shirt so
Elizabeth couldn't win two)
Second Set
10 When This War Is Over (song JJ Cale wrote for Eric Clapton)
11 Nadirah announced that Robert would sign his new CD "From The
Heart" and talked about Ralph writing "Where Is The Love" and they
did Robert's version of "Just The Two of Us" also by Ralph. (Another
highlight for sure)
12 In The City by Mac with a story about Mac writing it
13 Wonder Why You Ever Go Home (Beautiful version with Mac on piano)
Nadirah told the story about choosing the songs for Nod to the
Storyteller and mentioned Buffettnews.com (She said she may do "Over
The Rainbow" on the next one...get that...next one) She mentioned how
Mac gave her his very first album and the first two songs he wrote
when he was 16 (People Call Me Jesus and Let Him Go)
14 Let Him Go sung by Nadirah with Mac on harmony vocals and guitar
They announced Mac going on the road with Kenny Chesney
15 Last Man Standing performed by Mac written for with and about
Jimmy
16 Solo by Ralph
Reminiscing about how long with Coral Reefers
Nadirah 14 years
Mac (says they started writing together in 1977)
Ralph 22
Robert 24
Nadirah says she's the newest member of the Coral Reefer Band
17 A Pirate Looks At Forty sung by Mac with segue into Redemption
Song by Nadirah (she said she should have put this on the album)
(Certainly another highlight)
