Need help making .mp3 and .wav live CDs

First of all, thanks to all who have uploaded shows to Jokelben!

How do I make a CD to play in a standard player or a .mp3 player without the "pause" between tracks? I tried clicking and dragging, using Windows Media Player, and Sonic Record. All of the options leave a one second or so "pause" between the tracks. On a non-live CD this isn't a big deal, but it makes concerts sound unnatural.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

When burning a cd, you'll have to burn it using .wav files and not .mp3 files. The mp3 format puts some information at the beginning of each track, causing the gap you hear. I think some mp3 players now offer gapless playback, but if you're listening to a cd you'll need to use .wav files for tracks that flow right into the next.

If I'm burning a live cd from mp3s, I convert them to .wav files and delete them after burning. They're huge files and take up too much space. I figure I can always use my original mp3 file again if I ever need it.

I've noticed that Windows Media Player doesn't have the gap when it plays .MP3s saved from the hard drive.

What I'm trying to do is to fit several concerts all on one disk in .mp3 format.

Is there no way to burn in .mp3 format without the gap?
