About this Jumbie....

Okay.. so I wandered around the liquor store yesterday looking for a new rum to discover. Nothing really tripped my trigger...then I remember how some of you sing the praises of Rum Jumbie.
So to my surprise, there he stood...sayin'..."gimme try mon".

Okay... so I poured a small shot and sipped. LOVE grapefruit/ citrus kick..
But it's a tad too syrup-y to me.

I'm trying to think of something to cut it with...maybe a couple slugs of club soda over ice???

What do y'all do with the Jumbie??

Not a Jumbie drinker, but some Jumbie drinkers do shots, some drink it over ice.

Maybe mixed with some tonic water or seltzer

I never picked up a citrus taste at all. Just give me some over ice, and I'm a happy gal.

I agree with Penny. Over ice, let it chill some. Some I have been around prefer it with some lime juice to cut the sweet a little.

I think Mr. Rum Jumbie is just a myth. I've looked for him in all kinds of liquor stores in several states and can't find him. So he's like Bigfoot to me. All I see are pictures, which could be photoshopped.

Straight up - COLD. We are making a Jumbie run this weekend. We can't get it in Pennsylvania; need to cross state lines into Maryland (don't tell the popo).

the nav-a-gator makes their rum jumbie drink as follows:

muddle a quarter lime in a short bar glass
add ice
1 shot Rum Jumbie
fill with club soda
stir
serve with lime slice on rim of glass

That sounds like a winner. I like the idea of the club soda cutting some of that syrup.

Because I am always on a diet I was curious about the calorie count in Jumbie. I went to the website and sent an email totally not expecting a response about 3 weeks ago. I just recieved this via email. Not sure if it is accurate but I will go with it and have a sip tonight
