Aloha, Nan, Bill, Deb, and all of my sleeping-in BN buddies! Happy Father's Day to all of you papa bears! It is also Mike's birthday today, so I have baked a cake this morning ... we will have lobster and steamers for din din. I am thrilled for you Lubers who were serenaded by Jimmy with Somewhere Over the Rainbow, it looks like it was so awesome! And the pictures of our phriends with the Coral Reefers are fabulous! You lucky little parrotheads!

Good morning.

Had a fun night at the ballpark last night, except for the heat. During the first game the temperature was only about 88 or 89 but the heat index was over 100.

The Pelicans lost the first game 2-0. In the second game, they got 4 runs in the first inning but had to go into extra innings to win 5-4. The next jersey auction they're doing is next month for Christmas in July, the players will be wearing ugly Christmas sweater jerseys. I have to get one of them.

The Back To The Future jerseys they wore last night were designed to look like the outfit "Doc Brown" wore in the movie, a lab coat with a Hawaiian shirt underneath. The back of the jersey had the player's uniform number with DOC above it and the player's name under it. The Pelicans have a player named Kevin Brown so his jersey said "DOC BROWN." I had already bid on a player named Jonathan Martinez, a pitcher who made the All-Star team, but just for laughs I looked at the bid sheet for Doc Brown's jersey. The bidding started at $75, his was up to $125 the last time I looked. I won Jonathan Martinez' jersey for the opening bid of $75, nobody else bid on an All-Star, so I have a jersey that says "DOC MARTINEZ." When I was in college I dated a girl whose last name was Martinez. She's a doctor now.

The "Doc Brown" jersey I won last night. I had to do laundry this morning, when they have these auctions you get the jersey the player wore in the game. It was hot and humid last night, the jersey was a little ripe when I got home from the ballpark.
