Got up early this am, and got out the french press, had some great 100% kona coffee, it was wonderful. I had a second cup, it got me through the tax preparation that I spent my day on.

We had a foreign exchange student from Costa Rica live with us last year, and she brought us some great coffee from her family's farm. I still have a couple packets left but save them for "one of those mornings".
Most of the time though, I either drink Green Mountain Coffee or 8 O'clock. As I don't use cream or sugar, I like a good blend that doesn't have a bitter aftertaste. Green Mtn is great, but I have to make it a cup or two at a time, as 10 minutes after brewing, it will start to get an aftertaste. 8 O'clock is a great blend, and is inexpensive. That's what I normally have brewing in my office.

What is the price per pound you expect to pay for Kona? (or Kona blend... if so, please specify)

I pay $8/lb for Kona blend (10%) or about $39/lb for Kona.

I made my recent purchase in Hawaii (bad ass coffee co) for $26.95 100% for 1/2 lb.

100% Kona on www.coffeeam.com has it for 147.50 for 5 lbs, if you purchase it this way and freeze it, it's is only $29.50 per lb. w/o shipping. I am considering doing this when I run out.

Just picked up a package of Archer Farms Kona blend at Target. I'll let you know what I think after the first brew.......

On my trip to Key West last week we stopped at Blue Heaven for breakfast. My first taste of Baby's Coffee......excellent! Will most definitely order some for home.

Also passed by the Bad Ass Coffee shop on Duval St. several times, but just didn't stop in. Based on the other BNers comments, I'll probably give this vendor a try as well......

Sipping on my first cup of Archer Farms Kona blend from Target......very nice, smooth, great aroma. Makes me want to explore some of the other premium Kona blends discussed here.

Just curious, how do others store their coffee? I like getting the whole beans & grinding right before brewing......

Did a little CBS (cross border shopping) yesterday and our last stop was at a TJMaxx. My husband bought a shirt and as we were at the check out paying for it I was browsing around at the flavored coffees.
Thought I had struck gold........found Vanilla Macadamia


Looked at the label and it was decaf. Not my fav, but it is all my husband can drink and he didn't get to try that flav in Hawaii because they didn't have it in decaf. Kept digging in the pile and found a regular VM as well. On sale for $4.99 for a 12oz bag. Artisan Coffee Roasters is the brand. It is 100% Arabica. Too bad there is no Kona in it. That would be the cats a$$.

Having my second cup as I post and it is mmmm mmmmm good!

I have to drink decaf now.....any suggestions there?

I am a big fan of Baby's coffee out of Key West. Good stuff....
